This place was recommended to me by the Shane Company, who did not want to work on a garnet ring that belonged to my mother. I dropped and scratched the ring in the parking lot leaving the hospital the horrible night she died and I was anxious to restore it as good as new. Also I wanted to thicken the band where it seemed a bit thin from resizing.
I can't even begin to describe the shoddy workmanship and am heartbroken over it. The band is crimped and you can clearly see where they cut it and placed another section - a section exactly the same size as what was there. There was no point to this exercise and I actually paid someone to desecrate my mother's ring. I am not even going to give them the opportunity to fix it - $300.00 thrown away but if they are willing to let that kind of work leave their shop they are either incompetent or don't care - either way not worth the risk.
Note: the place I took the ring to to repair this place's work said it looked like the "new" shank was actually a used one taken off another ring. He asked me when I had it done and when I said yesterday, he said there was a lot of wear on it already. He also pointed out other bad workmanship I hadn't...
Read moreDan, I apologize for taking sooooo long to write a review on Personal Touch Jewelry….so here goes!!
Absolutely LOVE PTJ! I first met Dan, the owner a couple years back when I asked him to repair a clasp on a neck chain gifted me when I was 17. ALL of the other brand jewelry stores told me it was a minimum week wait…Dan did it in FIVE MINUTES and charged a VERY reasonable price.
The second time I went to see Dan was to have a ruby replaced in one of my wife’s pinky rings that she had inherited from her mother. Again, brand jewelry stores either declined to work on it or gave me an unacceptable wait time and price. One store whose name rhymes with “hails” went so far as to question the authenticity of the stones. Dan worked his magic and wifey was ecstatic.
Dan is one of the very few proprietors who not only proves to his customes how valuable they/we are to him by his outstanding customer service, workmanship and cheerfullness, but also by offering quality jewelry at fair & honest prices.
Wifey & I decided a while back that PTJ & its owner, Dan, are now our family’s preferred jeweler.
Thank you, Dan! We’ll be seeing you...
Read moreI had my necklace repaired by them and after I picked up the necklace, it was still broken at the same spot. I asked the guy about the repair and he stated he fixed at a different spot. I asked why he fixed that spot since it was broken. After few discussion, he showed a piece of the gold chain of my necklace that he kept from my necklace to prove that he had fixed the necklace. When I inquired why he kept that piece of the necklace and why didn't he fixed it back on to the necklace and he had no response. At this time, he demanded that we leave his store. I asked for the piece of chain necklace he kept from me and left the store. I could have called the police since he was stealing from me but decided that for that small amount of price, it was not worth my time. I just want to warn all others for the principal of this matter to...
