If you’re looking for yummy treats and a place to cool off, the Mint Julep Bar is the place to visit. I only recommend doing a mobile order if you have 20-30 mins to spare depending on the time. The line is usually long here, BUT it goes by fast and you get your treats right away. The mint lemonade is SUPER refreshing and tasty. It’s perfect for those hot Disney days. The beignets are always good, but make sure you order a dipping sauce if you want one, as they are extra and not included with the order. We kinda made the mistake of not ordering a dipping sauce. Currently, the seasonal flavor is the strawberry beignets and the flavor is very SUBTLE but delicious. It’s like mixed into the powdered sugar so it’s a very light strawberry taste which I enjoyed, but I’m sure it’s good for folks to know they’re not gonna be pink or filled with anything crazy like that. Tables are hard to come by in this area, so you have to know it’s gonna be busy. Also, this area is COVERED in powdered sugar so beware haha I was wearing all black, so clean your table...
Read moreOverall: This place is a hidden gem. There is always a long line. It's a great place to get a dessert or drink. They don't take annual pass discount.
Food: The beignets are amazing here. They will occasionally have seasonal version of the beignets. They put the beignets is a paper bag. There are no plates at the location. They serve either in 3 or 6 pieces.
Drinks: The mint julep is good. They no longer put in the green syrup, which affects the look and taste. It used to be better. The drinks are served in clear plastic cups. The cups are small. Sodas and water are also served here. They carry souvenir cups. All drinks here have no refills.
Service: There is no sit down service. It is a grab and go location. The first person you interact with is the cashier. They will ring you up quick and direct you to the right. Next you will interact with the person who hands you your drinks or food.
Ambience: Not much to see, but a long line. There are seatings everywhere. Has a New Orlean vibe. The location is hidden, so you won't see much from...
Read moreFood is fantastic. If you can get it! The line here is horrific. There is a bottle neck since Tiana's opened that is inexcusable. People are crammed around blocking the train station exit stairs, blocking the napkins, spreading powdered sugar around all the brick planters, places to sit. There is nowhere else to sit.
You should just walk or stand and get powdered sugar on your clothes. All while having no place to put your drink. Think cocktail party with no seating and not even a high table.
Oh, and they can't make beignets as fast as they are selling them, so count on a half hour to 40+ minute wait beyond when your mobile order time stated. Yes, really, they can't figure out how to close the mobile order when it is obvious they can't produce fast enough to fulfill orders.
Until they sort production out, add tables or at least chairs and a better flow to and from the window, go to Downtown Disney for your beignet needs. They won't be Mickey shaped, but they also come without a side of frustration coupled with...
