Where do I start? Nothing, and I mean nothing was good about the experience from the start. The ring came with a "made in China" tag still on it. They forgot to remove that. I was not aware that they buy all of their jewelry from other countries, which I learned when I had to bring it back. When it arrived, it was the wrong size. I went to the store and they said I could just leave it and fix the size issue, but they would need to send it to be resized. I left it with them, along with my contact info. I asked if they just wanted my husband's contact info since he bought it for me as a gift. They wanted my contact info, so I provided that and watched the gal enter it all into their computer for the manager since he said he would call me the following day after he talked with the customer support folks. Heard nothing. No updates at all. After a fair amount of time, I called the store, to learn that they had done nothing and the manager said he didn't have my contact info?? Then it gets sent away to correct the size and they think they are doing an awesome thing by offering me $5 off? Then I still hear nothing for quite some time, so I call customer service to be told that the rush the manager said he put on it was never put on it but they did add the "rush" to the order while I was on the phone so that it would get back here faster. They said it would be shipped out that following day. After waiting to hear from the Ankeny store to let me know I can come pick it up, I heard nothing once again. I followed up with the customer support team and was told my ring arrived at the Ankeny store on 1/14, and it was now 1/24. TEN days later I still hadn't received any call. I've got the ring now. I was not unkind in any way. But I promise you this, I'm never going to experience Kay Jewelers again. That was incredibly disheartening, to say the least. They replaced the ring with a beautiful ring pictured below, my new ring is more valuable, but they wanted to make it up to us for all of our trouble. We will now shop Kayâs Ankeny, for life. 100 percent customer satisfaction rating, thank you so much Kayâs!
Original review: We came to this Kay because we had a negative experience at another local Kay store. I chose this one over others in the area due to the positive customer experience reviews. We are so glad we did! Sandra honored Kay policy and helped us in the way that we asked. She was compassionate and listened to what we were telling her instead of blaming us for a problem with my ring that we had bought at the other store. The other store blamed me for a defective gold piece that fell off and said we could exchange it for the same ring and pay for another new Forever Cherished Lifetime Protection plan which was almost $400 (for a second time). This was unacceptable, the ring wasnât even 1 year old and immaculately cared for and checked at the 6 month mark per policy agreement. Customer service is what makes a store successful, and treating customers as valued people who deserve professional care and quality products that donât fall apart in less than a yearâs time.
