Sometimes I think it's just me, but then I start reading these reviews after I left and I have no problem leaving this review...
I want to express my extreme disappointment with my recent experience at DXL in Ann Arbor. I came in needing new clothes, but from the moment I arrived, I did not feel welcomed. It wasn’t until I walked all the way to the back of the store where the jackets are that anyone greeted me. When I asked about jackets, the response from the red-haired associate was simply, “Yep, they’re all right here.” That was it. From that point on, she seemed more interested in folding clothes than helping me.
When I tried to use the fitting room, she told me I needed to ask to get in, while juggling clothes and holding her Monster drink. Later, when I asked her a second time to unlock the door, she opened it and then told me to just leave it ajar so I could go back and forth. That felt inconsistent and unnecessary. At checkout, she pointed me in the general direction of the register instead of walking me there, continuing her conversation with another employee. The entire time, I felt like I was being treated as a second-class customer.
Even at checkout, when there were issues with the email sign-up code, I was encouraged to register but was seconds away from walking out because of the poor service. The clothes themselves seem nice, but the customer service was not. Unfortunately, I do not plan on returning to this store. The lack of professionalism and customer care made for a very...
Read moreAssociate I delt with needed way more training before being left to run the store on her own. I was the only customer inside, I told her I had trouble finding a certain size and color several different times and she couldnt care less to help me find what I needed. She then asked me what I was doing there with attitude after searching the racks for about 15min, I assume because I don't fit in big and tall clothes as I was there shopping for for my son. I also asked her if she could tell me what size a 3xl shirt is equivalent to and she did not know and began telling me sleeve sizes for some reason. When I told her that was incorrect she told me, with attitude , that the person I was shopping for should be in the store themselves, I told her that wasn't possible as he was disabled. The After spending about 400 dollars there she made me feel more awkward by telling me over n over how she's giving me the hangers when she isn't supposed to be. What? Made way too many comments on the situation because I was taking 3...
Read moreSince my last visit, and a reply from upper management, I’m sad to report nothing has changed. He assured me that he cared about my comments and that he was visiting that specific store the following week. The store is still dirty and uninviting right from the vestibule. The team is non existent, I still found myself taking care of myself and searching for the pole to pull items from the upper displays. I honestly never saw an employee until I went to the register. At which time her stellar salesmanship skills were on display. She asked, “Did you find everything all right”. Yep. “All by myself, thanks for your help”. I know why I have to shop here, lack of available clothing options for big and tall men. Why can’t you care care about the shoppers who really have...
