Dear Starbucks Customer Service,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent experience I had at one of your Starbucks locations. As a regular customer who has always appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and quality of service at Starbucks, I was taken aback by the discriminatory and rude behavior I encountered during my visit on [may 19].
On the aforementioned date, I visited the Starbucks located at [Store Address]. I entered the store accompanied by my service animal, who is an essential part of my daily life due to my disability. To my utter dismay, instead of being treated with respect and understanding, I was subjected to embarrassment and humiliation by one of your representatives.
While I was peacefully working on my laptop, a Starbucks representative approached me in a condescending manner, making me feel as though I was doing something wrong by having my service animal with me. Not only did this incident make me feel singled out and discriminated against, but it also left me questioning my worth as a customer and as a human being.
It is essential to note that I was not causing any disturbance or inconvenience to other customers during my time in the coffee shop. I merely wished to enjoy a cup of coffee and engage in my work, just like any other person. However, instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was made to feel like a burden and an outcast.
Moreover, I would like to bring to your attention the lack of accessibility provisions at the Starbucks location in question. I observed that there is no handicap button on the outside of the door, which makes it challenging for individuals with mobility impairments to enter and exit the premises independently. Additionally, there is a notable absence of designated parking spaces for individuals with disabilities. It is highly disappointing to witness such oversights in a company that prides itself on inclusivity and diversity.
To exacerbate the situation, the representative who confronted me also complained about my car being parked in the 15-minute parking zone, which happened to be the only available spot at the time. This incident further added to my frustration, as I was left feeling as though I was being reprimanded for circumstances beyond my control.
As a customer who has enjoyed Starbucks' products and ambiance for a significant period, I am deeply saddened by this experience. I have always regarded Starbucks as a place where individuals are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances. However, this incident has shattered that perception and made me question whether Starbucks truly values all of its customers.
I kindly request that you take immediate action to address this issue. I sincerely hope that you will investigate the matter thoroughly, provide appropriate training to your staff members regarding disability rights and inclusivity, and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Furthermore, I urge you to consider implementing handicap buttons on your store doors and designating parking spaces for individuals with disabilities, as this will greatly enhance the accessibility of your locations.
I genuinely believe in Starbucks' commitment to providing excellent customer service and fostering an inclusive environment. I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and work towards rectifying the situation. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the actions you will be taking to address this matter.
Thank you for your attention to this serious issue. I trust that you will handle this complaint promptly and ensure that every customer, including those with disabilities, can feel welcome and valued at...
Read moreThis is my go to Starbucks. Has been for years! Four days ago my husband went there for my favorite Italian Roast whole bean. We were out and my daughter and her family were coming into town the next day. I like to grind my own beans now that I have a coffee grinder. When my husband went to buy the beans , he was told they were out. They recommended another type : Sumatra. told hlm that they thought I would like it. He bought it but also then bought some ground Italian roast at the Krogers very close by to be sure. While I really appreciated his efforts and their suggestions, I didn’t want a big bag of Sumatra! So today ( July 5 2024) on my way to work, I stopped in with the UNOPENED bag to request a simple exchange. The barista was busy, but I waited at The counter . When I asked for an exchange she told me it couldn’t be done! Where was my receipt? I explained my husband did a good deed to go buy it for me etc . ( he by the way didn’t take the receipt when they asked!) She held her ground. I asked if there was a price difference. There wasn’t . She asked if we ordered on the app. We didn’t. She was by the book for sure. She said it would wreck their inventory. Well that was that.I asked to speak to her manager . She said she was the manager. I said she had now lost my years of business. This was a simple exchange. I left the Sumatra on the counter. She called after me that I left the coffee. I said I didn’t want it. I guess her inventory will get confused. Very disappointing customer service . I told her I would write the corporate Starbucks. This was not what I expected...
Read moreHey you should feel shame about yourself! Starbucks employees interrupted customers’ phone calls and requested the customer to give the table for their employees for their training.
I sit in a shared table with other customers. A female intern interrupted my phone call from my back. She said she is an employee of the Starbucks and her manager request me to leave my seat to give space for their meeting. I asked if she could give me 5 mins to finish my phone call. Within 2 mins, she and other 6-8 people showed up, took the seats surrounding me, and started their meeting. I had to stop the phone call and asked these people whether they are sure their manager told me to leave my seat. One of them said yes. I cannot stay with a group of people having their meeting around me, then left.
The Starbucks is at 3601 Washtenaw Ave, Ann...
