Beyond Juicery + Eatery — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

I went in earlier today for lunch. This would have been my second time eating there if the Manager working wasn’t horrible. As I was waiting to place my order the manager was on the store phone at the register while taking a customers order in an argument with someone on the phone. She used foul language when on the phone and although she was not in sight you could still hear the profanity and racial slurs used. After hanging up on the person she started talking to an employee about the person she was arguing with as the store phone began to ring over and over again. I placed my order with one of the other employees and said “This is very ghetto, and it’s only my second time eating here but it makes me not want to eat here anymore” the employee nodded as if she agreed and walked away. As I sat waiting for my order I hear the manager say “So does he want a refund” as she walks to the front she asks me “Do you want a refund” I said “Actually can I speak to the manager” . She says “I am the manager” and I said “Yes give a refund.” But on a positive note the wrap I ordered the first time going there was great! The vegetables were fresh and it was a good meal. Generally have no reason to complain with this location. Today was an exception. Two folks were working hard during the lunch rush, and after about 40 minutes of waiting, I asked if my order had been started. The claim was a ticket got lost, though the lone smoothie in my order was made and sitting there. My complaint though was that when I asked if I could just get a refund (before 4 wraps were started to be made) I was told no? I also paid extra for 3 low carb tortillas and was told they had none left, and I didn’t receive a refund for that either. I’m not thrilled that I was essentially told I had to either walk out on a $70 order (with tip) or wait longer than the 30 minutes beyond the original estimate I’d already waited. I also thought it was a bit strange that I had to approach the staff instead of them asking me for my name and checking in on the order when I had been there that long. Favorite smoothie: The Colombian but I add an extra banana! So delicious and soothes my need for coffee and chocolate in a refreshing drink!

Favorite wrap: PB&J on a wheat tortilla. I did not even consider this a possibility and don't get much PB&J because a family member has a peanut allergy, but if I'm out and about on my own I'll order the PB&J Wrap that comes with granola and banana pieces freshly cut!

I have ordered from this eatery multiple times and always like to try new things from the menu and love the surprise tastes I gain from a different perspective. The staff are also willing to work with you and substitute items you don't like with items you prefer (I personally like chicken instead of turkey, they get me!)

Also, the chocolate chip cookies are amazing! One worker told me they taste even better if you microwave them, I will have...
