I signed up for private swim lessons with my 11 month old and was very disappointed. The instructor was nice, but told us the first day that all they can do at his age is get him used to the water. That is not what the website stated when I paid for lessons. We spent 95% of the time just standing awkwardly in the water, learning absolutely nothing. Our second to last day we had a substitute instructor who seemed surprised by how little we had been taught. Honestly, I think he would have learned more if I taught him myself after watching some YouTube videos. It would have saved me $100.
I wrote an email stating my concerns with the program and was told they were re-training instructors and offering me make-up lessons. I replied accepting the offer for make-up lessons and have been trying for MONTHS to get a response and get something scheduled. They have completely ignored me all summer and my son is now in more danger around water than he was before because he knows he loves the pool.
I didn't expect a lot going on to this, but I was still very disappointed in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience today! We got a very young instructor who payed no attention to my daughter who was in the beginners' swim class. I let him know before they started that she was scared of the water. He was busy playing with the other kids while my daughter was standing there, scared, not knowing how to get into the pool. Once she managed to get in by herself, she began to float out into the middle of the pool screaming for help, and the instructor didn't even look her way! So I had to come over and literally pull her back to the side of the pool to hold on, hoping he would eventually come help her. But he just continued to play with the other kids in the class while she was crying and holding onto the side of the pool. After a while, she eventually looked at me and said: "Mommy, I can't hold on anymore. Help me!" So I got her out and we left. I understand you have other kids in the class and can't hold things up for one child, but the lack of attention in this situation is careless, negligent,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was such a nice change to being quarantined for awhile, they finally opened yesterday, we drove an hr and a half away just to come swim. My kids had so much fun. The lifeguards were very friendly, they disinfected between the sessions for public swimming, a whole hour. Meanwhile, we had a picnic under the trees right outside the exit, other families that were there did the same and we all social distanced while waiting. We wore our masks when outside of the pool and you canāt enter the facilities without a mask. Thereās bleachers that you could put your things on or trees right behind the bleachers that provides shade. We brought coolers with drinks and food, thereās an Albertson down the street that we got sandwiches, chicken wings and fruits for our picnic. Weāll definitely be back, thank you Apple Valley Aquatic...
