I really contemplated leaving a review, but seeing as in the last few days others have also had negative experiences I figured I’d add mine, too. Our local OfficeMax is closing and wouldn’t let me do a print job, so I went with this location instead. I placed my order at 9:30ish pm. I spent the majority of the next day without a single notification, sometimes at the old place they wouldn’t notify me, but it was ready. I arrived at 2 pm. I surely figured that one singular sheet of paper would be printed. Someone greeted me at the door and asked if I needed help, let them know I had a print pick up job. Immediately a different cashier took over the conversation and spent the next few minutes raising her voice at me, asking if I needed a pick up, pick up, if I was picking up supplies, etc. Each time I let her know I had just uploaded something online to print and just needed to pick it up. It felt like it went on for five minutes and I’m usually pretty passive, but I literally had to tell this adult woman that I didn’t understand why she was giving me attitude. I wasn’t being rude, I wasn’t raising my voice, I literally was just trying to pick up a singular sheet of paper and was met with appalling behavior. She decided to help me and let me know that I was fifth in the queue, no matter the size of the order, they only follow the queue. Which is fine, but seriously there’s 3 employees not doing anything and these orders aren’t printed? I’m going to miss my local store and I’ll drive an extra 15-20 minutes to never revisit this...
Read moreThe date was 07/09/18. Just after realizing that the nearby target did not supply what I needed(composition notebook with graph paper), I decided that the next appropriate and close place would be the office depot. Upon my arrival, I read their hours and saw that it was 10 minutes before the store closed. If I wasn't in such a hurry to get what I needed, I might have turned around because I know that after a long work day, it can sometimes be difficult to see a customer walk through the door. To my surprise, when I walked in the doorway I was greeted by a smile and a question "is there anything I can help you find?". The voice backing the question was one of genuine interest and care for what I was looking for in the store. I informed him on what i was looking to find and he told me an isle number. Not only did I find the product I wanted, but I also found a style I liked with a type of leather backing. At the checkout counter, he and I had a discussion about the switch from "office max" to "office depot" and how he has worked at this location before the switch. But what I found incredible, is how I stopped by 10 minutes before close and was still given the same help and interest that someone who came in earlier likely received. On my way out I learned that the employee's name was Nicholas. And I really hope this review somehow makes it to him so that he can know how grateful I was that he made a simple trip to the store brighten my...
Read moreI visited the store on 6/13 to purchase an office chair. My husband and I were fully capable of carrying the box ourselves, so we did—especially since there were no employees around to offer a dolly or assistance until we were already near the front.
When we reached the checkout counter, the cashier (heavy set woman possibly wearing glasses) began laughing uncontrollably and struggled to complete the transaction with a straight face. At first, we tried to brush it off—it seemed maybe she found the situation mildly amusing—but the laughter continued to the point where it felt disrespectful.
The situation escalated when the next group of customers joined in with a snide comment, which the cashier seemed to encourage. We're unsure why such unprofessional behavior was considered acceptable, but the experience left a bad impression and made us reluctant to return or recommend this store...
