When my step-father booked this room, he was asked to put in his credit card information to authorize a hold on the room. He had planned to pay for the room to the card he charged the hold to originally. He was not told at any time that he would need to authorize my use at check in. When we arrived, the man at the front desk asked for my ID, and the credit card on file; I told the man that I didn't have the card, because my step-father had charged it online. They said that would be fine, but asked to see my own card. Never once did they say they would be charging the room to my card at all. I proceeded to stay my first night at the hotel. The next day whilst enjoying my vacation, I checked my own bank account, and not only found that the room had been charged to my card, but also that there was an extra $43.62 charged on top of what had been confirmed through email with my step-father. Which is outrageous because the website says "no hidden fees"! Obviously when I realized this, I went to talk to the staff at the front desk around six p.m. Thomas, a trainee, proceeded to help me in a calm, and respectful manner. Another worker, Anchal, also listened to my explanation, and complaint. But she, unlike Thomas, proceeded to attack me, and my girlfriend verbally, and explain all the reasons, condescendingly, why we were in the wrong, rather than helping to rectify the situation. She was not helpful in the slightest, and more focused on proving us wrong, then doing any customer service type act. Thomas, on the other hand, was very level headed with the situation, and attempted to help while Anchal yelled at us. On top of that, none of the managers were scheduled to be of any assistance to us. Anchal was happy to tell us that no one was there to actually fix the situation. I 100% believe that had she not been there, the situation would not have risen to any type of argument. I am very displeased with the service I received, and can't stress enough how disappointed I am....
Read moreMany nice features, but I wouldn't return. First, the POSITIVES: Pleasant, helpful staff at every turn. Very comfortable bed. A quiet night's sleep despite proximity to major highway; we were there 11 nights and never once heard anyone in an adjacent room. A window that opens for fresh air. Spacious bathroom with counter space for toiletries. A "safe" shower with no-slip flooring and grab-bar. Strong internet connection. Free onsite parking, unlike other hotels nearby.||||The NEGATIVES: The room itself is simply unsuitable. There's absolutely no place to store anything. Not one drawer anywhere -- just three chain-link baskets to put clothes, which anyone can see through. Neither the desk nor nightstands had any drawers; the nightstands have only a thin shelf that slides out, like a kitchen cutting board, meaning anything you put on it is likely to fall off. Because the room was dark, we pulled back the drapes for more light, only to find they are merely a decorative cover for a solid wall. About half of the electrical outlets are too loose to hold a plug so they're useless. Even on smaller matters, this property misses the mark in so many ways. Twice, the housekeeper removed the pillowcases without replacing them, so we had to call down and request pillowcases (which they brought up right away -- very helpful staff). Also twice, housekeepers simply walked in -- no knocking, no announcing, just barreled right in; they were profusely apologetic when they found us there (but why would finding guests in the room be a surprise?) -- but still. The clock was still set for daylight saving time (months ago), but it's no wonder -- we tried to adjust it ourselves, assuming it would be easy, but gave up after about 15 mins and just turned it to the wall for the rest of our stay. Even the routine hope-you-enjoyed-your-stay email after check-out laughably asks us to "Give us a call any time at...
