Nice hotel, good location, good service. However.... loosing a star for You know when you go to a big city and you have to pay parking? I'm used to it, comes with the big city. Well this hotel is not the big city, however know they do charge for parking. Hmm, why do they charge for parking you ask? Interesting same question I had. Well the reason you pay for parking is because one of their big customers demanded them to put in EV chargers, which comes at a cost, ok. Well instead of passing that cost onto the customer that asked for it, they passed it onto everyone. Here is an idea, put the chargers in, but charge for the use those chargers, for the folks that asked you to put them in, just like when you go to any other fueling station NOTE not one car was on one of those chargers. Nor could you use one if you were driving a tesla, as they use a proprietary connection. Not to mention 50+% of all hotel traffic, consist of travelers that arrive via rental car, have you ever seen a electric rental car....me either. Loosing another star for.... Next question is a math question....if I were to put in 2 EV charging stations, what would it cost? Let's stay the cost of a charger is $5k, which they dont (not to mention available CA grants, to put in chargers), so $10k for two chargers. Each hotel let's say has 50 rooms, 50 rooms x $10 for parking (or excuse for paying for EV chagers), say hotel is at 50% occupancy 25 rooms x $10 = $250. $10,000/$250=40....so 40 nights it would take to recoup this cost. They stated they changed this policy since sometime in Sept 2019. Well its mid-march 2020. Beginning of October was 160+ days ago. Dont usually rant like this, but this just was one of those things that grinds my gears. Hope owners see and make a change, that's all...

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and was satisfied with my visit. The experience wasn’t anything extraordinary to give this hotel five stars, but it was great for the price I paid. It was one of the cheapest hotels in the Los Angeles area and it was pretty nice. The hotel was quiet and the lady running the front desk in the evening had so much energy and was really nice. The parking was free, but really hard to find and the hotel was really clean. The room I got had two queen beds and two sofa beds. I could fit 8 people comfortably in the room. There were two televisions, two desks, a small refrigerator, and plenty of charging stations around the room. Room service came by every day to make our beds unless you put a sign up and the bathroom was satisfactory. I had the free breakfast one morning during my stay and while it was really organized and clean, the food sucked and looked like terrible quality. I do not recommend any of the food they serve. The bagel I ate was as hard as a rock and the cream cheese was warm and tasted expired. Checkout was seamless and we were out quickly. While the hotel had some flaws with parking and breakfast I still would recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Los Angeles area, especially if they have a large family.

Los Angeles is home to many amazing hotels, but almost all of them are expensive. When searching for a cheap, but nice hotel on Hotels.com, I found the Springhill Suites. This hotel isn’t dirt cheap, but it’s not bad for what you get. It has nice, clean rooms, a good tv, a mini fridge, a microwave, and the hotel staff are very friendly. I do have one suggestion though, if you need to order room service, go down to the lobby and ask the staff at the desk. They apparently don’t have a room service number. When I pressed the button, it sends you a random strangers phone number. I found that to be really strange.

My review is based on a three week stay during which I changed rooms four times by request, to experience the overall hotel.||Management/Employees: ||The management and employees at Springhill's Suites were all professional, prompt to assist during any inconveniences and by the second week addressed me by my last name anytime we engaged in conversation.||Front desk employees were generally polite and patient while engaging me during a transaction or conversation despite obvious superficiality or apprehensions when my engagement delayed their task at hand. ||The hotel employees a diverse team culturally and ethnically.||All of the employees I encountered spoke clear American English, in addition to any other languages spoken.|||BREAKFAST:||The breakfast always included Scrambled eggs, waffles, oatmeal with various toppings, one or two kinds of fruits, some bagels, cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter, fruit juices and milk.||Breakfast Hours: Weekdays 6 AM until 9AM. Weekends 7AM to 10AM.||BONUS TIP: Key hot foods ran out by 9:00 AM or earlier during the weekends due to different people running the breakfast area.||BONUS TIP: Put Bacon or breakfast meats on your plate as soon as you get to the breakfast area, especially on Saturdays which are the busiest. They run out fast.||BONUS TIP: You can get a coffee cup with lid from the water area near the front desk to take milk from the gallon milk container. During the weekends individual containers are not available.||Some mornings, there were yogurt and pastries available.|||Rooms and Views||I stayed in four different rooms, all of the beds were comfortable.||BONUS TIP: The rooms have a hotel managed Alarm Clock. It will go off at 6AM the first morning, unless you turn it off in advance. This alarm unit has two AC power sockets and two standard USB sockets. (These are the only USB power ports in the room)||Each KING suite room has same setup. Rooms near the elevator which is the center of the hotel, have a slightly different layout.||Rooms have a mini-kitchen counter with a small sink, microwave, some storage space underneath and a very small mini-refrigerator that has no freeze section.||BONUS TIP: The mini-fridges have an auto defrost feature. You may encounter wet food and less cooler internal temperatures. Make sure the mini-fridge door and seal are closing good, leave it closed and it should chill-up again in a few hours.||The desk had two built-in AC sockets and a land-line internet network cable socket (No cable provided) No USB ports. A very bright desk lamp perfect for work. In one room the desk AC sockets didn't work, causing me Laptop battery to drain and shutdown while I was working. I recommend testing the sockets in advance.||The artwork on the walls are large and pleasant.||The lighting in the room was adequate, and the desk light was exceptional for working under.||There was a large couch with a pull-out bed. The main bed had a roll out bed also. The couch wasn't the most comfortable to sit on without a pillow to lean against.||The TV had limited channels, mainly movie, motel, Pandora, several major news channels, YouTube or Netflix if you have an account. No local TV or News channels.||WI-FI Non-Secured Internet was included. The included versions was faster than any other hotel chain I've stayed in. A faster higher bandwidth tier for gaming and intense streaming is available for an additional fee.||The restroom sink and counter was separate from the toilet and shower. ||There was a very small closet. One of the smallest of any hotel I've encountered.||The shower was oddly shaped and had a built-in plastic foot stool which felt awkward initially. Water pressure was decent, and hot ware was plentiful.||This location has two primary views. A partial view of the San Gabriel Mountains (North side). ||A City view facing the Metro A-Line Electric Train. (South Side) | |The windows in the room open three inches on either side, and offer plenty of sound protection when closed, plenty of natural light. The roll down blinds kept the room very dark for late sleeping when required.||While this is a "Pet-Friendly" hotel, I didn't see or hear any pets during my three week stay.||No fleas or bugs in the rooms of any variety.||All of the rooms I stayed in smelled clean, no strong cleaning chemicals within the building which is great for people with allergies and raspatory issues, no strange smells in the rooms.||The air conditioner/heaters are controlled via a wall thermostat. In my first room, it was hidden behind the TV.|||Hotel Amenities: ||Housekeeping was available every other day. Every day by request, and required every seven days.||The hotel has a mini-market closet with Candy, Chips and drinks.||A big perk if you are a Silver or Gold Marriot/Bonvoy member is later check out times upon request.||I had several visitors, and we were allowed to use the boardroom to play some board games one evening.||The pool is decent sized. I stayed here in August and I only saw people using it a few times, so bring swim shorts.||There is a workout room with two industrial treadmills and several machines.||The second floor has a laundry room with two large washer and dryer machines. They cost $250+ to wash or dry.|||Noise:||The hallways on the second floor was always loud, with lots of people talking from inside their rooms.||Rooms closer to the elevator and center of the building have a small hallway between the room door and the main hallway, these tooms had less noise from the hallway, but also had more noise from neighboring rooms.||The rooms I stayed in on the third floor had considerable noise from people walking on the fourth floor.||I stayed in one room that has a connecting door to a neighboring suite. This was a very loud room, especially with the neighbors arguing all day into the evening.||The south facing rooms: A night club is near-by that has live music.||The A-line Train Tracks are next to the parking lot (South facing rooms). Trains pass every 10 to 20 minutes. These are electic trains and only make a Whooshing sound. You can barely hear it with the windows closed and the ac/heater fan blowing. |||Safety: ||Though I never felt threatened in the parking area or around the hotel, nor while walking the local streets to visit businesses, I recommend keeping alert and aware of your surroundings. This area has a lot of foot traffic due to being near a train station.|||PRIVACY:||The doors are very thin and the room shape helps amplify sound into the hallway. Anyone in the hallway can hear what is being said, very clearly. ||I observed a guest standing off to the side of a room recording audio with his phone, of a conversation occurring in the room.||If you need to make private phone calls, especially if discussing credit card numbers, birthday, social security numbers or other confidential topics, the restroom has the greatest sound proofing.|||EASY TRAIN ACCESS:||If you are traveling by metro-line train in LA County, or want easy transport to several key tourist spots, this hotel is a 6 minute walk to the Arcadia A-Line. ||The A-line has several stations of possible Interest, including Pasadena for the Rose Parade or Pasadena City College, Azusa Pacific University and Citrus College.||A-line also connects to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, where you can transfer to trains for Olivera Street, Universal Studios, The Long Beach Aquarium.||City of Arcadia Sights:||Local sights a short Lyft/Uber ride from the hotel include, Santa Anita Race Track, Westfield Shopping Mall that has a movie theater, outdoor dinning, a Dave and Busters. The Los Angeles Arboretum is a great place to walk around, view exotic plants, a lake, a waterfall and Peacocks.||Near The Hotel:||6 minute walk to REI Sporting Goods.|6 minute walk to Acuity Eye Center.|10 minute walk to IN-IN-OUT burger.|10 minute walk to the local...

I work for 2 weeks every quarter in CA. I usually stay at the Hilton properties adjacent to the Springhill Suites. The Hiltons are very nice but I thought I'd try the Springhill Suites so I could have a bigger room. Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the outside looks of the hotel and the front desk staff. They were efficient and welcoming. The room however is older with popcorn ceilings and older appearing furniture and a lot of the tv stations do not come in. Not sure why they are called suites since they are the same size as the Hilton rooms with the exact same amenities except in the Springhill suites the AC unit is right next to the bed. It is about a foot from the bed so when you sleep it is very noisy and is blowing on you. It did drown out the noise from the room next to me since the walls are very thin. | Today I walked past another room 2 doors down from mine where the guest checked out and housekeeping was cleaning the room. In this room, the AC unit was located further down from the bed so it is not blowing directly on you. I went to the front desk and asked the young man if I could switch. He checked and said the room was available, he also asked if my original room was clean. I said yes and he came to inspect my room (not sure why). After inspecting my room he said he could move me. He instructed me to pack my bags and come down to get the new keys. I was delighted! However, after packing he called and said he made a mistake and that the new room was blocked for another guest. I asked if the new guest could take my room since I was going to be here all week. He denied my request. I went to the front desk and asked why the new guest who has not arrived yet did not get another room or my original room. I could tell by his face someone in management had instructed him to deny my request. I was beyond furious. The manager who instructed him to deny my request didn't even have the guts to come out and explain.|I asked him if the same exact room was available on another floor and low and behold it was, I requested to move me. He agreed and escorted me to the new room. I asked him directly if he denied me the room or if someone instructed him to do so. The poor boy was bright red and I knew he was instructed by management to deny my request. I think they just didn't want to clean another room. I am a lifetime Titanium member with employees who travel here. I do not tell them where to stay but I tell them where they cannot stay and this hotel just made the list. If the Springhill Suites can't accommodate a simple request to change a room they do not deserve the business.|I am currently in the new room which I like and would have been happy to stay in for the rest of the week but this hotel does not deserve my business or my money. I have booked a new room for the rest of the week at another hotel.|In the span of 10 minutes, this hotel managed to take a delighted guest who was really looking forward to a new room to a disgruntled guest who will not be...

I had decided it wasn't worth it for me to have to travel home where I live in Long Beach only to have to come back to work in about 3-4 hours later when I could logically get some rest nearby and still get up in time to make the start of the 1st shift (3am) at my work place. I had booked the hotel around 7:30pm and was in the hotel by 8pm promptly. It was good to know that there is always some vacancy during the week. I work in 24 hour medical components facility nearby in Monrovia. I provide sustaining and process engineering support as such in this very case I was needed to be there early to facilitate an investigation and floor audit. I explained this to the floor associate and she helped me with a late check-out to 2pm which I wasn't sure was possible, but the hotel was extremely accommodating. In the end I didn't need to use that option, but it was nice to have. I also didn't get to partake in breakfast in the morning either, but it was really nice coming back to the hotel around 10:30 without having to worry about missing check-out because I definitely took advantage and had a nap. There is a good amount of parking around the hotel, none of it covered. Not that it's necessary since it rarely rains in this area of California. It's a fairly safe area as well located near what might be considered the downtown area of Arcadia. Also there's plenty of other hotels nearby, so it's definitely geared towards business travel and the occasional family or guest stay. There are also plenty of chain restaurants in the area, and Old Town Monrovia has plenty more to do and also by freeway or Gold Line (Light Rail) about 20 minutes from Pasadena. All in all a good value hotel for the price during week and at the last minute might I add. Of course it helps that I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Elite...
