We will never go back to the Arcadia Boiling Point again. The servers were cold and insensitive. They may have made a mistake with the seating arrangements—seating the wrong group ahead of us—but they acted nonchalant, offered no apologies, not even when I went up to the counter less than a couple of minutes later to explain that our whole party was here.
The servers' response was dry and dismissive. They simply said, "If your whole party isn’t present, we give your table to another group." They didn’t even try to check if we were just moments away or consider giving us a grace period, perhaps 5 minutes, especially given my elderly mother-in-law’s slow walking pace.
We were very disappointed. After trying to explain the situation to the host, we debated whether to wait another hour or so for the next available table. While we were deciding, a server told us curtly to go outside and wait, which was extremely upsetting. I was infuriated. Thank goodness I didn’t lose my temper or cause a scene.
My daughter—whose birthday it was—felt sad. We were all hungry, and instead of being welcomed, we were treated with indifference. It was wrong for the establishment to treat customers this way.
We live in Arcadia. It was my youngest daughter’s birthday, and she had suggested we eat at Boiling Point because her meal would be complimentary on her special day.
At 11:00 a.m. this morning, she and her older sister went in to sign up on the waitlist as the restaurant opened. Our party of eight was assigned table number C001. At that time, there were only two people ahead of her.
At 11:15 a.m., she received a text saying, “Please check in with your Host so we can seat you as soon as possible.” When she checked in, she saw that our table had already been given to another party of eight. When she inquired about it, it seemed clear the host realized they had seated the wrong group. Whether that was the case or not, the host’s response was simply, “We give your table away if your party is not fully present.”
I understand that every restaurant has its own policies, but customer care and basic courtesy should always come first. Sadly, this establishment showed neither. Because of this experience, we will never return to...
Read moreAfter been living in 626 for so long, I had shocked some foodie friend that I told them this was my very time trying boling point. They are the most popular hot point franchise in Socal. All of their location is packed nearly all the time...
Doesn't matter when you come, is very likely there will be a line. They interior is tiny usually only can see less than 50 peoples... This probably help them save in cost and look more packed than it is due to the size.
There's no lot parking here, only street. Good thing isn't too hard to find parking. It said is in Arcadia, but is only block away from Monrovia. This is like the only Asian type restaurant in this block I believe.
I try their lamb hot pot. I love lamb and is one of few meat doesn't matter how long you cook. Since is always tender. I regret myself at first for asking the pot to be extra spicy, it was indeed very spicy. I almost can't handle but later on love it. The broth flavor is quite good and quality of the meat is also good.
Portion size is about right, and most important the price. Not many hot pot place get you full in $10 or low $10. Most do cutting corner to meet that price, but not here. The wait hype is worth it, but the wait can be killer especially if you are in rush. The wait for the pot to come is quite long, over 20 minutes...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and I have to say the experience was incredibly disappointing. The food was decent, but the attitude of the server, Sabrina, completely ruined the lunch. My friend arrived about 15 min earlier than me and told another server one more person would be a little late, and they seemed to be fine with that. When I arrived and was ready for order, she said I cannot order with my friend's table, it was already closed and I needed to line up for the table again. It is hard to believe customer cannot order additional food after taking the first time order. And if they do have the rule, the staff should explain clearly when my friend was ordering food. After we checked again with another male server, she came again and asked what we would like to add to the order, so clearly, there's no such a rule of no additional food and I don't know why she came up with that.
She gave off a clear vibe that she couldn't care less about providing good service. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but Sabrina's attitude was unacceptable. If this is the type of service they allow, I won't be returning. It's a shame because the food wasn't bad, but I can't justify going back when the staff treats customers like...
