Scalper the Store - at first glance, this looks like a well-stocked store. The walls are full of cards and games, but that hides the secret. Nothing sells, because it's highly marked up. Is the item widely available with an MSRP? Cool, add at least $2.50 for the pleasure of shopping here. (Dragon shield Pink Diamond card sleeves MSRP at $12.50 but are $15 here. Warhammer Asurmen is $45 MSRP but $47.50 here.) Does it have a whiff of collectibility? Find the most expensive wide-distribution store and add a good 10-20% on top. (Edge of Eternities Collector booster box went for $425 at its all-time high on TCG Player. It's $460 here, even though the price has since decreased. Card Kingdom never went that high.) Why is it worth the mark-up? I don't know. They don't have promotions. They don't seem to run tournaments. I guess we're all just paying for the convenience of their location...
Read moreMagic players beware, the pricing on singles here is abysmal. They don't price adjust, so if they priced something at its presale price once then you're screwed. A card that should cost $5 is actually going to cost you $10 if you're crazy enough to buy it.
And don't buy into this "but we also give you good deals when we misprice a card too low" malarkey. You'd be lucky to find 1 of 100 cards in there priced below it's market rate. Everything else is exceedingly overpriced.
Pokemon players note, I'm not sure that this is still a thing in 2025 but according to one of the staff they weigh their packs. Not sure why that person decided to just randomly tell me that since I don't play Pokemon, but hey, thanks for the honesty.
Store has potential but with the horrendous pricing policies, and seeing other horror stories if knock off product, I'm inclined to say this is not...
Read moreRight off a metro stop in the mall, huge floor space. Great collection of a lot of things whether it's anime related like plushies or statues, Manga, or Trading Card Games: One Piece (singles too), Magic the Gathering (singles as well), Pokemon (singles too), Disney's Lorcana, Flesh and Blood. Warhammer sets and paint. D&D books, dice, and some minifigs, Funkos. They also host events for TCG game nights. Pre-release draft and such. In my experience, I only wish their singles were market priced, whether they can compare to TCG online or another for the real time value, for their sake and other buyers. I saw a few cards that were a bit under priced and of course I bought them but quite a few of others that were over priced based on older market values. Those will forever...
