I would like to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with the post office in Aspen. During my two-week stay in Aspen without a jacket, I attempted to order one and explicitly requested in the delivery instructions to leave it at the door due to my unavailability to access my company's lockbox, as the owner resides in Europe. However, despite my specific instructions, the package was placed in the lockbox.
When I tried to resolve this issue by contacting the post office, my calls went unanswered as the phone rang continuously. Subsequently, I visited the post office in person to speak with a representative. Regrettably, I was met by a disinterested woman who displayed a lack of professionalism by diverting the conversation to unrelated topics and expressing inappropriate opinions on socialism and communism. This behavior demonstrated a clear disregard for customer care and service.
Furthermore, when I inquired about holding the package at the post office, I was informed that it could only be done after my departure. When I proposed having a friend pick up the package on my behalf, I was told they would need a copy of my ID. However, upon sending my friend to retrieve the package, they were informed that a written consent form was required, leading to further confusion and inconvenience.
I am deeply disappointed by the disrespectful treatment, misinformation, and lack of cooperation I encountered during this ordeal, resulting in a situation where I am unable to receive my belongings. This level of service falls far below the expected standards and reflects poorly on the post...
Read moreWhat is happening at this branch ? I'm reading reviews from 2 years ago describing the same problems that are happening today. The place is woefully understaffed. The regular staff (Maureen & JR) that have been there for years are incompetent beyond belief.
We opened a PO Box here on the 18th and were told that the person using our PO box prior still has 1 of the 2 Keys for the PO Box. We return on the 20th of September to pick up a package from "our" PO box and find none of our packages (packages are still lost) but a different one addressed to the gentlemen that owned the PO Box prior.
We go to front desk to address this. We stand at the front desk and watch Maureen fumble around for 1 hour before she has the locks changed. She then tells us its her lunch break so we now have to talk with JR. She doesnt tell JR the locks have been changed. JR changes the locks again. We were assured everything is correct in the system and this gentleman that owned the PO box prior will not be receiving anymore mail at this PO Box.
Today we return to collect packages that have arrived. The keys we have to our PO Box DO NOT WORK. We go to the front desk. JR changes the locks for the 4th time. We take the new key to the PO Box and open it to find packages for the same guy from the first incident. JR takes the package not addressed to us and goes into the back to find our 2nd missing package in 4 days. 20 minutes later he still had not returned so I walked out.

Read moreWorst Post Office ever. And they will steal and lose packages all the time. I shipped a letter to my brother, and I asked what the safest way was to send it and that I wanted to send a phone abroad. I asked for insurance and all necessary labels to ensure it would get there. After changing 7 locations in the US, it finally got stuck in California and never heard back. We filed a claim and we even spoke with the Post Master. Our Money was never returned, no one ever followed back, I tried for years until the said it has passed too long. Lost aprox $1k with both phones stolen.
The second time we were returning some papers and also a damaged phone to my parents in law. Used the same method they had used to send things to us, however this time, they removed the phone from the box, delivered everything else and never heard back from the phone location.
Again, we asked all the questions, paid for all proper services and they just repeat things out loud like machines, literally such a bad service. Most our packages come open or are taken back to Denver or other centers after being processed in Aspen for delivery. AVOID THIS BRUNCH...
