So I've been coming here for years recently my dr Robertson increase my medication due to the fact my labs came back a little abnormal so he suggested that I take an increase of medication for a week or two n have my labs rechecked.. wel,l when it was time to go in to get labs I had to call the office staff serval times bc my doctor hadn't place them for me. I call for about two days finally I was able to get labs done but when I call to get results my doctor was out of the country.. I spoke with the nurse Desi and she transferred me to the office manager Keyshia, who had another doctor look over the labs and tell her not me that I'm taking to much medication to stop it n go back to 90 n 15 once daily. I did what the doctor suggested.. I asked Keyshia to please inform my Dr Robertson about my labs and changes made while he was not present n to call me when he returned.. my doctor returned that Monday only to tell the office manager to tell me continue taking the increase medication. N to see my gi specialist bc I have other issues that doesn't pertain to my thyroid.. I told the office manager it in fact pertains to my thyroid why else is he increasing my dosages.. that I don't have a prescription for.. my doctor only told me to increase the medication but never wrote a new prescription. Dr Robertson has totally neglected me n left me out.. I didn't even get a understand of new labs.. was never discussed I've been coming here for years n this is the way I get treated by my provider. It's the absolute worst feeling to be under someone care who actually doesn't care .. I will continue to stress this situation further so this will not happen to anyone else.. absolutely unacceptable n I will no longer be a patient her at Atlanta diabetes to over booked and lack of communication im suffering right now I have to seek help from my pcp to clean up what Dr Robertson has failed to do for me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with Atlanta Diabetes Associates has been profoundly disappointing and, frankly, traumatic. After being newly diagnosed with diabetes and hospitalized, I initially saw an endocrinologist from their practice. Shockingly, after the initial consultation in the ER, they never returned to follow up during my remaining three days in the hospital. I nearly had to delay my discharge due to their negligence, but fortunately, my hospital physician intervened, recognizing my distress, and helped expedite my release.
My first in-office visit, 5 days post-diagnosis, was equally distressing. The endocrinologist's manner was cold and dismissive, casually informing me that I had Type 1 diabetes as if it were insignificant, rather than a life-changing diagnosis. Adding to my frustration, it inexplicably took six weeks for my blood test results to come backātests my primary care physician routinely returns within 12 hours.
Further compounding my disappointment, my follow-up appointment with a different endocrinologist was abruptly cancelled just five days beforehand due to an outstanding bill related to my hospital stay. Despite settling this large, unexpected medical bill before my appointment, they cancelled my visit and refused to see me for a critically important follow-up appointment. It was only after voicing my frustrations to the billing department and expressing my decision to seek care elsewhere that they attempted to rectify the situation.
Sadly, this experience has left me wary of endocrinologists altogether, something I am actively trying to overcome. I hope my feedback prompts serious reflection and significant changes at Atlanta Diabetes Associates so others donāt endure the same unnecessary distress...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an appointment with Dr. Robertson over a month ago, after waiting nearly six months to be seen. The initial visit went very well, Dr. Robertson was knowledgeable, attentive, and ordered blood tests to help evaluate my condition.
Unfortunately, the communication following the appointment has been extremely disappointing. After receiving my test results, I waited over a week without hearing anything back. I reached out multiple times through MyChart, but received no response, complete silence. When I called the office, a nurse informed me the earliest follow-up appointment available was in November (five months away) just to review routine blood work. That level of delay for something that could potentially impact my treatment plan is unacceptable.
It wasnāt until I spoke directly with Keisha, the office supervisor, that I finally received a response from Dr. Robertson regarding my test results. I followed up again to ask whether my medication dosage should be adjusted based on the labs, or if another appointment was necessary; but again, more than a week has passed with no reply.
At this point, I feel deeply frustrated by the lack of follow-up and apparent disinterest in ongoing patient care. I sought Dr. Robertsonās help for what I believe is a serious medical concern. While I still believe he is a competent physician, the lack of communication after the visit is frustrating and disappointing.
If it werenāt for Keishaās help, I would still be waiting in the dark. Iāve decided to look for another provider, who truly cares about their patients and not just about receiving payment from insurance.
Patients deserve better, not just in the exam room, but the follow-up care that's just as essential...
