The absolute WORST experience I have ever encountered in my life. Why aren’t 0 stars a thing?!
My sisters birthday dinner was set for 6:30pm on Saturday 2/4. Upon arrival we were advised that there was a wait time for the size party we had *10 people and that they could put us on the waitlist *Est wait time was 1 hour. We understood that 100% & were very patient with the process.
They notified us our table was ready yet the table could only seat 5 people.
The remaining 5 had to wait an additional 45 mins so they said. Under a second reservation ticket.
We noticed 2 tables left, & asked could they seat us at the 2 empty tables that could easily accommodate our size party. The response was no. When asked why not the extremely RUDE, DISMISSIVE & DISRESPECTFUL manager “Nadia” says because those tables were reserved for another party. There were other tables as well!!! I have the proof.
Thinking a managers job is based off of honesty we simply believed her. 1 hour goes by & we STILL have not been seated as well as advised that our group of 5 that were seated first were only allotted 1 hour of dining which had now been reached.
At this point 5 people have eaten, 5 people have not. On top of being separated since Nadia claimed there was a reservation for the other tables. Do you know that we watched that table for close to 2 hours and have photo time stamps to show proof that no one ever showed up for those tables we kindly asked for? Even if there was a reservation all reservations have grace periods. At what point during us asking her multiple times how long before those tables could be passed to the next did it not register to her that her unnecessary lie would come to light???
There was a party of like 15 that came in that they catered to from start to finish. You could tell that the manager and a waitress were catering to the regulars they personally knew.
I brought that to the manager Nadia’s attention and she continued to lie about the reason for not seating us. My cousin asked her for corporate or higher ups info & she was saying it low & fast. On top of that my cousin has a HEARING AID DEVICE & would’ve been hard at hearing her anyway. When my cousin asked her to say it again so she could catch it Nadia told us that she’s said it 3 times & that she would not be repeating the GM or owners names.
Let me guess she couldn’t see the hearing aid device either huh? This was the most tasteless treatment EVER.
She said its like 4 or 5 owners & said names really fast. I personally did catch 3 names she said Britney, Juan & Chris. Rolled her eyes non stop, ignored my cousins request for higher ups info & as we were speaking kept saying have a good night over and over again. I couldn’t believe it. To think that I set the tone that this place would be PERFECT for my sisters dinner & it ended up being a reservation from the pits of hell.
Nadia, you truly didn’t have to be so nasty. Especially towards the end when it was evident it was related to a hearing deficiency. My family came from out of state to come support my sisters dinner, yet the birthday girl and half the party had no choice but to consider grabbing a cold cut at the sandwich shop in the plaza in dresses & heels.

Read moreA friend text me on a Friday mooring suggesting we check this spot out for happy hour. While I am not a drinker, I am a lover of food tasting food- and specifically seafood. As such, I was down for trying this spot out.
After doing my usual research of the place, I discovered a few things. This is a fairly new spot This is a black owned spot The Yelp reviews are all over the place!
After doing a little more digging the following was revealed: The grand opening was in November 2022 This is the second Location, the original location is in Virginia Highland.
We opted to play it safe and make a reservation via Open Table for 5:30pm. I was able to find this place by way of Waze app. The restaurant is located off Howell. I’ll where the old Wal mart use to be. They have a small area in front of the restaurant for parking, which is free. I do feel that there may be a parking issue on busy days.
When I walked into the restaurant I was immediately greeted by two staff! That was a nice surprise. They did not even ask about my reservation since they were not busy at 5:30pm. We weee seated directly in front of the faux fireplace, which I think also doubles as the DJ area when they have one on site.
Our wait staff came over quickly. While I waited on my friend to arrive I went ahead and ordered water. Once my friend did arrive the staff came back over and assisted my friend with picking out a drink to order. She seemed very well versed on the options. Shortly after taking the drink order we ordered our meals. I went for the salmon and grits with a side of Brussels sprouts and my friend ordered the shrimp basket.
The food came out quickly, and was brought out by a different person than our server. I am not sure if she is the chef or like a food runner. However, I did notice her bring out all the dishes. After snapping a few pictures we dug in. First thing to note is that I asked for my salmon to be cooked medium well. I can’t stand over cooked salmon, and so many restaurants over cook it. This spot was no exception. The salmon was over cooked, and therefore dry, despite my request for medium well. I personally think that the food is NOT cooked to order and simply reheated hence the reason my salmon was not cooked as I ordered it. I will say that the grits weee very thick and tasty. If it were not for the over cooked salmon this dish would have been perfect. The Brussels sprouts were good. I did try my friends fries, that did come out cold. This was another sign that the food is NOT cooked to order. I did not try her shrimp but she said they had a good flavor and she enjoyed hem.
Overall I think this spot has potential to be great. The ambience is cute, the service was good, and the food if cooked to order could be amazing! NOTE: my true rating is a 3.5, but I just rounded it up. As noted, there are areas for improvement with the food.
One final note: all bills will have 20% gratuity added!...
Read moreLet’s talk about Sea Salt! I’ve seen it but tonight was the first time I was able to experience the restaurant. One word, Yasssssssssssss. LoL!!!!
As this sits next to La Parrilla, you know the parking is scarce, however, there is parking. Upon finding a parking spot, I headed to the restaurant. The outside is simple and has a clean faced look. There is a cute couch outside the door so if you are waiting for people and it’s a nice day, you can take a seat outside.
Walking in, the vibe is super chill. The location has ample space and has a clean design aesthetic. The colors have a balance of upbeat and calm all in one and present the perfect tone for a friends night or a date night.
Entering the door fully, I turned to the hostess area and was greeted with a huge smile and pleasant welcome in. I provided her the party name and as I was there for a birthday celebration, we had to wait until 80% of the group was present. No worries as I understand the need for the majority TK be there as there is a 90 minute table time limit.
The group was all there within minutes and we were seated immediately. Once seated, our waitress came up to the table immediately and introduced herself. Along with the introduction she advised she would be bringing us some water and would be right back… by the time she got back, she delivered our water and was ready to take our drink and appetizer orders. I love this process as it was very streamlined and left no gaps.
The drinks and appetizers arrived with a good time frame. By then, the waitress was also refilling our waters. I love her efficiency.
She allowed us a few more moments then came around to take our food orders. As I was hungry but didn’t want anything too heavy, I decided on the Fish & Chips which consist of Fried Cod Tenders and French Fries.
The table ordered a variety of dishes as everything on the menu looked amazing. I must admit, as amazing as the food read on the menu is also how amazing it looked in-person. OhMyGoshhhhhhhhh! Every single dish looked AhhhhhhhMaaaaaZingggggggg. And yes, mine tasted as good as it looked.
The Cod was flaky and not overdone. The batter was crispy and not too thick. The batter and fish was seasoned but not to a point of over seasoned. The cod tasted like cod and didn’t have the fishy smell of after taste. This was def Cod Tenders done right. The fries paired well, of course, and were seasoned perfectly as well.
As the night continued, our waitress was on her A game the entire time. She checked on us. Kept our waters filled and kept the drinks flowing. I’m talking A1 Service.
Thennnnnnnnnnnnnn… Karaoke kicked off at 9pm. Babeeeeeedeeeed. It got Litttttttttttttttttttt and the vibe was VIBINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
One thing for sure, Sea Salt was an amazing experience. Great Service. Great Ambiance. Great Food. Great Time.
