So, I'll be honest here. This is the worst Einstein Bros I've been to. I gave it the benefit of the doubt ten times in a row, and it hasn't ceased to disappoint me.
This is one of the only Einstein Bros bagels with a drivethru. While a cool feature, you end up waiting an awfully long time on the food. On average, I've waited ~5 minutes to get my food. This means that if there's five other people in front of you, you spend probably half an hour in the queue.
If you order anything involving a toasted bagel, the bagel is always burnt. This has been consistent over the past six months. Somehow, they manage to completely blacken the outer parts of the bagel, to the point that it's pure crunchy carbon. Meanwhile, the centers of the bagels are somehow doughier than they should be. I figure this means the bagels weren't prepared properly beforehand?
If you order anything complicated, such as a bagel sandwich with things like egg, it's always messy and falls apart. Out of all the Einsteins locations I've been to, this one seems to take the least care and pride in their food arrangement/quality.
Additionally, there is ALWAYS a shortage of something, no matter what time you arrive. Usually, all of the top shelf bagels (the best ones) are gone. The vitamin waters run out. I always have to change some part of my order because something's not available. I've never run a restaurant, so maybe I don't know how it is, but I assume that there's simple math to determine how much of something you need to have on-hand so you don't run out of it.
Stopped going here for a few months, said "maybe it improved", and came back. Nope, still the same nonsense...
Read moreI have lived in the neighborhood for nearly 15 years, and this Einstein's was open before I moved into the 'hood. They have never updated the property, so if you are a social anthropologist studying mid 1990's commercial real estate fast food restaurant design, this a rare find, if you can ignore the wear, tear, and the green mold growing on the north elevation of the building along the drive thru. Tasty. Ingress and Egress is a nightmare, since they never bothered to cooperate withe the large development behind them for access. As to the actual business, since Chris, the last manager moved on, this location has been abysmal. They still manage to make a good lox bagel, so I take the risk once in a while. Today, I roll in to sit down and eat at 2:38pm. Per Google maps they close at 4pm on Saturday. Per the sign on the door, it's 3pm. Per the burly white dude manager, they close in 10 minutes, Every chair, except for 6 scattered around, were stacked on tables, the floor was entirely soaked in mop water, and smelled of cleaning fluids. Nothing like knocking off 20 minutes early!
Howell Mill is known for poorly run businesses. For example, the Verizon store and Walmart are two of the worst in the metro area. Read their reviews. The only reliable businesses here are Publix, Willy's, ChikFilA, and perhaps Terrapin Station. Starbucks used to be good, but since Nikki left, it's 50/50. With all the rest of the business, you are just rolling the dice and likely to enjoy a Kafka-like customer experience. I just take the drive up to West Paces Ferry or over the border into Vinings/Cobb County to get...
Read moreWell I was super hungry and I love their bagels sandwiches and coffee. The price is a bit much but I figured it’s worth it for quality food . However , today I decided to visit and my coffee order was wrong and my sandwich was believed to me made without gloves :(. The guy who made my bagel sandwich I’m skeptical if he wore gloves . I say this because he called my name to shout my order was ready , but it wasn’t ready when I walked up to the counter . After waiting for a few minutes he was then finished with my sandwich . He then preceded to swipe the floor but I didn’t see him take off gloves soooo I figure gloves were not used to make my sandwich with the cheese stuck on the outside of the aluminum foil wrapper ! Messy presentation for sure !
Also, once he handed me my bagel he asked would l like a beverage !? I assumed that my beverage order was already submitted but it came almost 10 minutes after my bagel sandwich . I found this to be disheartening being that the coffee was not what I ordered !
I will say the staff is friendly and quite live. The only discomfort I felt with the employees is when I walked in and they were laughing hysterically. Just unprofessional a bit.
I don’t know , felt my experience could have been better for sure !
P.S The small dustpan broom was on top of the bagel glass counter ! I’m sure that was super unsanitary! I have a...
