I am extremely disappointed with the experience i have had with my order. The order for a kitchen table and 6 chairs was originally placed in store on September 2nd. The delivery was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 21st (i was told mid-september when i purchased). Ahead of the delivery, i was told to clear the space for the table, so i removed my old table from the kitchen. On that day, the delivery team arrived with our furniture, however they were unable to assemble the table because there was a large crack in the metal base. They left the chairs and the partially unpackaged table top in my kitchen and told me that someone wold be in touch with me within 24-48 hour to schedule delivery of the new base. On Wednesday the 25, i had still not heard anything from Crate and Barrel and so i called the store. They were unaware of my situation and had to call me back later in the day. At that point, they told me that the earliest they could deliver the base was October 3rd. This was frustrating as we had guests visiting during the weekend of the 28th and our kitchen was now filled with a partially un-packaged (torn card board and plastic wrap) table top as opposed to our original table which we had removed. Regardless, i have now taken the day off of work on Friday the 4th so that i could be home to receive the delivery of the table base. Today, i received a call from Crate and Barrel telling my that our table was not delivered to the warehouse and we would have to wait an additional week before we will receive our table base. This means an extra week of having no kitchen table, a mess of packaging in our kitchen, and i will have to take another day off of work in order to receive the delivery. As part of our purchase we paid for "white glove" delivery and expected that the table would be delivered and assembled on time. Had i known how disorganized this process was, i would have purchased the...
Read moreWe ordered an, in stock, table on December 1 and received an email within minutes that the product was in stock and ready for shipping. Delivery was scheduled for today, December 13. On December 12 I received an email that the table was ready for delivery. However at 8:45 pm the phone rings, and an associate of Crate and Barrel tells me, âso sorry, but your table will not be delivered tomorrow, it did not make it on our truck. Next possible, but not for sure, delivery could be on December 27â. We were in shock, and I explained that this was unacceptable. I was put on hold and 2 supervisors down the line, and now delivered on December 20. Why is this causing us so much pain? Simple, we work long hours and are away from home a lot. When we are home, we plan our time well. Last year we spend the Hollidays alone at home because we moved from PA to San Antonio TX, and were unable to entertain due to the move. This year however we plan to make up and spend some quality time with friends and family. A dining table is the center point of these activities, and with many people to entertain, our schedule starts this weekend. Ordering on December 1 an in stock product should ensured timely delivery. But not so. Informing us the night before delivering takes away any opportunity to adjust our schedule. Further more, we ordered from Crate and Barrel because a local business was honest and told us that their delivery would be after Christmas. We appreciate their honesty. We also missed out on other sales opportunities since Crate and Barrel left us in a bubble that the table was on his way. Our festive season has started with a nightmare, and we are forced to cancel our first event or spend a lot of money to invite everyone to a restaurant. Good food, maybe, quality personal time, NO. Embarising!!! We expected better from Crate and Barrel. So much for...
Read moreI ordered several of my furniture's from Crate and Barrel. I received the delivery of the items on 11/22. Much to my dismay as it was thanksgiving week, the Dakota dining did not have the necessary hardware to install the furniture. The delivery personnel told me the warehouse would schedule a re-delivery for installing the furniture. After several follow ups and phone calls, I was told crate & barrel shipped the hardware to warehouse, once they receive it local warehouse will schedule for an install. The gentleman from the warehouse called me to assure that Monday 11/28 the items was shipped by overnight, should reach warehouse by 11/29 and would be dispatched for deliver 11/30. Fair enough! I did not receive a phone call to notify of the time range they would deliver. I called at 2pm after waiting to know they will be home between 3.30-5.30pm. Great! What if I wasn't there? another missed delivery?? The men came sharp at 3.30pm, enter the house and ask me where is the hardware. I'm appalled!! They were told customer should have received the hardware, do install it. Frankly, this is a new home we moved into and I got furnitures from Restoration hardware, Pottery barn, West elm, Joybird, Anthropology and Crate and Barrel. This is by far the WORST customer service. After all this I did not receive one phone call apologizing for the mess up or to take care of the issue. From, A frustrated customer.
