After wandering and fumbling around in Macys for 30min without contact with anyone helpful my fiancee and I went to Dillard's.. 5 Star for Dillard's men's dept. Sylvia saved our day not only once but twice !! My fiancee, not being a regular suit wearing fella, she warmly greeted us and asked How she could help. It was NOT one of those insincere "can I help you?" It was real customer relations. I'm sure she could tell we were clueless. Lol but she was a rockstar. After several try ons and us ho-humming we opted to have one tailored.. she made him feel very comfortable and wizzed right through it. She helped out with vest and tie also. She asked if we needed coordinating shoes, socks ect.. She ran to other sections in the store to bring it all together rather than just pointing us in a direction she was full service. She had so much patience with us and was very "in tune" and must of read our facial expressions to find exactly what. So was decided that after being tailored, it was to be mailed to us since we live more than an hr away** two weeks later we hadn't received, I was in town so I stopped by to inquire.. seems the costumer service dept has opted out of being of service to the customer and they do not mail anything out any longer. Sylvia had sent it to their dept to be shipped and when she found out I haven't received it yet she tracked it down. There it was hanging on a hook right behind the counter in customer service dept with the a shipping form attached for the whole world to see. Yes our address, phn #, full credit card number( for shipping fee,) was right there less than 5 feet away from public counter obviously hanging there for at least 1 week. Needless to say when Sylvia spotted it she gasp in utter shock and apologized profusely. I couldn't help myself from asking the clerk behind that counter if she had not wondered why the suit was there or cared to inquire with her supervisor. I am shocked that the manager of that department isn't aware of items in an "incomplete" status. Obviously there is an item that has been paid for hanging around in plain sight for at least a week and no one questions what needs to happen. They should have contacted the department for which it came. Sylvia then could have informed me. But my hats off to Sylvia in the men's suit...
Read moreIDK man, I'm kind of frustrated here. When I was a kid my grandmother who was the most noble and honorable woman in the world, drilled into me some truths. She said it was imperative that I understood that, the place to go to get things such as fancy dresses or shoes for special occasions was Dillard's. It was THE place for the most fancy and to do things for your family. It had everything from great makeup to gorgeous shoes at reasonable prices.
I'm so disappointed to say that all these years later, this is just not that store. No, I don't shop there regularly. I had no idea the image in my head of "The best place" had become what it did.
I went in to get my daughter a dress for a big event, her very first formal super dress. I should have just gone to Ross in the first place. Not only were the dresses her size 6 times the cost of Ross, but they were ugly to boot. I'm not spending $150 bucks on a dress for a little girl that looks like it should be $4.00 at a Goodwill.
Not to mention the fact that it's not very well maintained. The changing rooms had clothes in them and we had to go to the little boys changing room because the girls one was packed with things and no one had cleaned it up. The cleanest part was the elevator in the middle, which was beautiful. The walkways were dirty.
The only department that looked cleaned and neat was the nearly abandoned menswear section in the 2nd Dillard's. Ya know, the clean department no one goes to except to get to the elevator to go to the kids part?
Oh, that reminds me, We had to go to the main Dillard's only to find out by accident there even was a 2nd Dillard's in the mall.
Anyway never again. I learned my lesson, you cannot go back to things just because of nostalgia for a brand. Just because it's old and there, doesn't mean it's got what you...

Sadly, customer service, At least at Dillards Lakeline is a thing of the past.
I purchased a garment bag, that sadly the design is horrible, and the only way to truly know was to use it. I bought it 6 days ago, took a short trip and knew it wouldnât work for me. Itâs too wide to reasonably fit through a normal door, every zipper seems to be at itâs breaking point in tension, surely to misfire at any moment, and the âkicker,â with the arm out, pulling it through the airport, my foot kicked the bag behind me with every step.
This bag will never work, and I thought - âitâs Dillards - even with store credit, my wife will grab a few nice pairs of shoes, or at least offset them a bit đ
But, speaking to both Hectorâs (the managers), not only is it against company policy to take back an item that has been âused,â no matter how big a piece of garbage they sold me for almost $300, they wonât take it back, but both decided to be exceptionally rude about it.
Iâm not proud of it, but their flippant attitudes and complete lack of customer service did put me over the edge, and I reacted poorly, so my apologies to any customers who may have heard me, but the sentiment still rings true - I will never shop at Dillards again, and if youâre uncertain if you want to keep something forever, good or bad, I would encourage you to shop somewhere else, as well!
I suppose this is why the parking lots are empty, and people would prefer to...
