Walgreens — Local services in Avon

I’ve used them as pharmacy for the 7ish years that I’ve lived in Vail, Whole they are convenient and I’ve had generally good experiences, I have had my last bad experience with them, and will never return.

First let me say that before insurance they are by far more expensive for prescriptions than City Market or Walmart. But after insurance, the cost is relatively the same.

Also, they are always having trouble with their records, and every time I get the automated system (which calls me and texts me incessantly) to refill a prescription, they never have any record of it and we have to start from the beginning. They also for some reason are always claiming that they have to fax my doctor to verify, even though my scripts are written out for 6-12 months in advance. I’ve checked with my doctor and he’s never gotten a fax from them or had to verify a script. I’m convinced at this point that they are just saying this to cover up for the fact that they screwed up.

But what really has soured me here is my recent experience with a pharmacist. After what felt like 3 days of back and forth with them, trying to get a prescription filled and having them mess the process up a few times, I was very upset and was trying very adamantly to get the issue resolved. Finally, I had to ask the pharmacist who had a terrible attitude with me from the beginning for the manager to complain. She refused and told me to leave. Well, i am greatly disappointed in the customer service of the Avon, CO Walgreens. I needed a prescription while I was on vacation during the holidays. My doctor in Kentucky kindly called the Avon Walgreens on New Year's Day today to get the prescription filled. Two hours later I called the Avon Walgreen's to see if the prescription was ready. The automated answering service at the store said my prescription had been received and was being proceeded but would not be ready for pickup until after 1 pm. I was informed that I could pick up the medication after 1pm and until 8 pm. At 6 pm my husband and I stopped at the drug store to get my much needed medication and the pharmacy was CLOSED, much to our shagrin. We spoke with the manager and her only comment was "well, we have a sign up on the front door that says the pharmacy will be closed at 5 pm today because of the New Year." I told her that the recording on the pharmacy answering service never told me that the pharmacy was closing early today. The employee standing next to the manager confirmed that the recoding did not inform customers that the pharmacy was closing early today. The manager said she had no keys to the pharmacy and that I would have to come back tomorrow. I find this situation totally unacceptable and highly do not recommend anyone using this pharmacy that has such inadequate...

When Walgreens became a part of the town of Avon, I was excited about the new pharmacy department because walmart is very unreliable, but what I found is how terrible walgreens pharmacy actually is, I gave them many chances and every time I had a question or an issue they wanted no part of helping me and gave me no idea how to fix anything. When I received a call from them telling me my prescription was ready and then I go up to the counter to wait for 20 mins for the women to tell me that my insurance doesn't cover the generic brand but it might the real brand but the computers not working but might I add that we don't have an of the real brand. After me sitting there for almost 45 mins and ask for the generic brand as I had asked for when turning my prescription in to the same women she tells me that it isn't ready at all and if I wanted it I would have to come back and get it in a couple of hours. She couldn't answer any of my question and then after calling me to tell me my medications ready and having me sit in front of her for 45 mins she finally says to me that it isn't at all. I have never been so furious with anyone in my like I took my prescription over to city market and received my medication 10 minutes later. I would suggest against using Walgreens, it's a complete...
