Phở 20 — Restaurant in Avon

Went to dine in today and service wasn’t too bad, for a slow day. Ordered the Vietnamese Eggrolls, the Eggroll bowl vermicelli, and Pho. The appetizer came out and within the first bite it was sour and smelled bad. With eggrolls, it’s not surprising to make large batches and freeze them. They either thaw it out and quickly fry for order and refreeze them at the end of the day until the batch is gone or fry straight from the freezer. However their process is, with the smell and taste, it’s definitely gone bad and who knows for how long. Definitely a disappointment cause I also ordered the eggroll bowl too. Thought that maybe it was just the appetizer and hopefully get a newer batch of eggrolls in my vermicelli, however some were worse than the others. Had to pick out all the eggrolls out of my vermicelli bowl which leaves nothing but rice noodles and veggies. The pho broth wasn’t too bad. If I had to go back, pho is the safer bet to stick with. But I doubt I would even try again. We did pay for our entire bill because we respect service workers and cooks for their time and effort, however no one cared when we brought up the sour eggrolls. I’m sure it’s a reoccurring problem they are aware of to not bat an eye towards our complaint. I’ve been going to this place since I moved here and it’s always been good, never had any problems. My friend and I went there today and it took him 15 minutes to make our drinks we put food orders in and our drinks and it took him 15 minutes to make it. I am a server and I bartend. If you’re standing right in in front of me and doing nothing, why is it taking you that long to make the drinks? I have been there many many times and the service has always been bad, but I do t mind since the food is good. I ordered the same thing I always do, the well done flank. But two of the pieces of meat were green. It was odd and I mentioned it. Wasn’t asking for a discount or to take it off. Just mentioned it so he could take a look at it. He brings me out 4 pieces of meat that weren’t green and said “well I’m not sure what you’re seeing, but it’s not green”. I said oh no those aren’t green but my pieces were so I was just saying mine were green then proceeds to be EXTREMELY rude to me about the pieces I had found, said it was the lights when I took the same exact picture in the same exact spot of the not green meat vs the green meat. We went seeing the reviews but were extremely disappointed. We were party of 7. Server came around 25 mins later rushing us to order as that may only be our chance to order and if don’t we might have to wait additional 40 as kitchen was rammed. Understandable- we asked what’s your suggestion and he said everything- not very helpful. We decided to ordered 2 egg and chicken fried rice, one large seafood pho, Thai wings, spring rolls and burgers for kids. Sea food Pho was average with imitation crab, shrimps were very chewy, flavorful but seafood was over cooked. Fried rice was good, kids devoured burgers as they were hungry post 6 hours drive, wings were not edible- chewy, oily with sauce slapped on top with no effort of mixing it and the server totally forgot our spring rolls. I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking to dine in. Ambience and service was below mediocre. Do take out if you are really craving for pho else find other place. There are much better places around for sure. Definitely do not order wings. I am not big on ambience as long as food is good but this place was bad mediocre on food.
