Stop what you're doing because its Tommy's Time!!

We were visiting Bakersfield last weekend and tried out Tommy's for the first time on Friday night. Let me cut to the punch line and say everything was so good, we came back on Saturday.

The toppings: high quality, well considered, well executed. We had a clean pep, cheese, and 2 specials. We have 4 year old kids who housed at least 10 slices over the course of our two visits.

Cheese: Top notch quality and flavor, perfect amount. Good quality mozz, + others in other pies and salads (pecorino, provolone)

Crust: THAT CRUST PEOPLE. This is a long ferment and you can taste it. Some resistance and chewiness in bites 1 & 2 that give way to a mind meld of softness. So good. Almost too good. Addicting, really.

Salads: I'd come back for the salads alone. House made dressings. Just want you want. Don't sleep on the salads. We had both the chopped and the caesar.

The people: if you catch the team walking around running food or cleaning up, stop them. look them in the eye. give them a fist pound and thank them. High quality characters doing tremendous work.

Citizens and visitors of Bakersfield, you have a true gem here. Support establishments like these because they are what brings and holds community together.

Tonight I ordered pizza from Tommy’s, walked in and was like, “Hey, where’s the pizza place”?Crazy full Liquor Store exotic wines, wine cellar, wine bar, whiskey bar, absolutely beautiful, but the best thing is I could never imagine finding a pizza on the West Coast as good as this Pizza!! We heard Tommy’s Pizza was the best pie west of the Mississippi so we HAD to make a special journey all the way from Atlanta. It’s located inside Imbibe Wine shop, so you can get takeout or grab a drink and enjoy the pizza there. This pizza is no joke and the crew is the best. Having grown up in the Bronx, I never dreamed I would find a slice that could rival Dino’s on Mosholu but Tommy’s Pizza is legit.
