I discovered The Pantry Catering about 2 years ago as I was researching new catering companies to work with at my job. I'm an Events Manager in Baltimore and was looking to step our game up at events and The Pantry caught my eye as soon as I landed on their site. I set up a tasting along with a few other caterers, and none of the others even came CLOSE to Pantry. From the second I met the team and listened to Chef Daniel present and describe each dish, I knew instantly this is what I had been searching for. Our partnership started that day and they have been my go-to for not just our work events, but my personal events too, ever since. The # 1 thing that sets Pantry apart from the others for me, is the thought and passion that goes into each and every menu. Other companies seem to work from a sort of "rolodex" of dishes, a multiple page packet that they send you and ask you to choose 3 or 4. The experience at Pantry is the complete opposite. Chef Daniel wants to know what your vision is, the feeling and experience you're trying to achieve. He listens to what you are envisioning and then takes time to curate a one of a kind menu, just for your event, just for you. Each time I inquire about a new event, I can hardly contain my excitement until they send over the menu proposal. And the way Chef Daniel chooses each dish, the story behind it, the origin of the ingredients, the WHY behind the dish, is just incredible. Chef Daniel and his team are also a complete joy to work with. Each team member I've worked with has been friendly, helpful, and happy to be there. It is obvious to me that Chef Daniel with his immense experience and background, has created a healthy, functional and supportive atmosphere for his employees. I could go on for days, but I'll end with this. The Pantry Catering is by far my favorite catering company I've ever worked with, and one of the most valued partnerships we have at our company, and they have also become my friends that I...
Read moreAll along, one of the main things we wanted our wedding to be was a celebration with great food and drink. If that’s what you’re looking for, book The Pantry as soon as possible. Our catering search was a comedy of errors, including double bookings of appointments, missed calls, laughably expensive quotes, and one caterer that invited us into their kitchen for a tasting that blew our socks off.
Daniel and his team were welcoming, personable, and served absolutely incredible food. You’d expect the staff to be used to certain dishes and get a bit tired of the same courses. But when one of his workers heard what he was making, she whipped around in her chair, exclaimed “He’s MAKING the Caribbean PORK!?!?!?! THAT MEANS WE GET LEFTOVERS!!!!!” And that should kind of tell you exactly what you’re getting yourself into. We left the tasting and sat in the car for ten minutes debating if we should book without trying other caterers (again, given the experience we had, this was a legitimate question).
Expect a personalized menu (we had the aforementioned Caribbean pork, chicken tacos, and the bistro filet) with all the necessary sides at exactly the same high caliber of cooking. The steak was perfectly done, and even the groom’s normally picky Texan brother commented that it was the first time he’d had steak at a wedding that wasn’t overcooked. Everyone else present continually complimented the food throughout the evening.
There were some slight hiccups along the way; namely the coordinator we’d been working with since booking suddenly changed… which we didn’t know until our walkthrough with the venue when someone we’d never met walked in. Things went smoothly from that point, but it still added a slightly stressful wrinkle two weeks before the wedding.

Read moreThank you so much to Daniel, Kristy, and the catering staff from the Pantry, for making our daughter's Bat Mitzvah reception a success!
The menu was thoughtfully and creatively assembled from our daughter's input. The finished products were delicious, from the short rib, to the house-smoked, kippered salmon, to first tender chicken we have ever tasted at an event! The mini-desserts were perfect and the bar offered just the right balance of beverages. We would name all the food on the menu, because it was all fantastic, but, that would give away the surprise to anyone reading.
The service was warm, polite, and attentive, and the staff even went out of their way to help a few VERY late attendees fill their plates, even though the buffet was broken down.
The Pantry genuinely cares about the food and service they provide. Daniel, the Chef/Owner, keeps his business small in order to focus on providing the best food and service. He was even on-site the day of.
We hired them, turned them loose to work their magic, and we are so glad we did! If you care about food and want to work with people who do, we would can't say enough good things about the Pantry.
Thank you again!
