HipHop Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Baltimore

I ordered the three piece trout meal online via Hip Hops website; it is supposed to come with cole slaw, bread, fries (thats what the website states).Under the special instructions, I asked that my fish be "fried hard,with extra seasoning and to substitute the fries with a cole slaw", and that I be given ketchup and hot sauce. I also orderd a 22 oz drink. I recieved a small drink, no slaw, hard fries and unseasoned fish; and no ketchup or hot sauce only tarta sauce (who asked for tartar sauce?) I would assume that whoever takes the order either cant read at all or struggles with reading English. Nonetheless, I called because I paid for a large drink but was given a small. I was placed on a long hold before someone came to the phone. The man then proceeded to tell me that it was the drivers fault, he must have mixed up the drinks; I was fine with that explanation but the driver works for Hip Hop. I didn't order thru door dash, uber eats, etc, I ordered directly via their website, so the driver works for them. As such, they are under obligation to make it right. Instead of listening, the man begin to loud talk me as he continued to tell me it was a delivery driver issue. The call ended with me letting them know that I will be there after work with my receipt and cup showing what I paid for versus what i got, expecting a free drink or refund...their choice. This was the Hip Hop on Eutaw Street, across from the State...

Really wanted this place to live up to all the hype! While the chicken dinner and the fish dinner we received was edible, it DEFINITELY did not live up to what all people said it would be. We showed up to this location one evening about 9:15 p.m. did not realize on a Friday night they close this early but was happy that we made it in in time. After we walked in and where looked at as if what did we want, one of the workers lock the door from the outside while myself and a few others who were there before me had ordered. We order and wait patiently we are the last couple inside in the last order to be made that evening. Once we got home realized we did not receive or coleslaw that clearly came with our meals and the fries were sopping with grease and also the fish was overcooked just hard crispy no flake we ordered Catfish by the way! I have always heard that hip hop chickens had good food but this was definitely not a good experience. Maybe we'll try it again, maybe it'll be...

Stopped by to pick up lunch for my family around 12:15 pm today only to be disappointed when I got home. I ordered a chicken combo (3 wings & 3 legs) with fries, (5 wings & 5 legs) with fries, and okra and macaroni & cheese ala carte. The chicken is extremely dry and tastes old because the skin was hard and tough to chew. And other pieces of the chicken's skin were soft and bald in various places. Which would indicate that the chicken was battered improperly. However, I did call the store and spoke to Mohammed. He asked me to bring it back and he'd replace it. This is such an inconvenience because I've made it home and cannot go back there today. As a result, we're still without lunch for today. SMH. From now on, I'll make sure to check my food before leaving the restaurant. I've worked in restaurant and retail management for over 30 years and I would never serve or sell anything that I wouldn't eat. Check and recheck before serving to ensure accuracy...
