Island Sun Jewelers — Local services in Beach Haven

My family and I have been coming to LBI for over 20 years and have always made it a point to stop at this store as part of tradition when we visit beach haven specifically. Up until recently it held a special place in my heart. My pregnant sister and I were shopping in beach haven and I had told her we should go here because they usually have the best selection for the best price and I always love going in this particular store. However, as we were engaged in a conversation about to enter the store, we were greeted by a young blonde gentleman who said “hello ladies” to which we replied hello!. He then said “sorry girls but no drinks in the store….” And before I could even process what he had said and decide if I wanted to throw out my drink or not, he followed up with a rude and sarcastic reply of “there’s only five signs that say it right in front of you….” Which was completely uncalled for. As a neurodivergent individual, I have a hard time with sensory overload and my brain tends to automatically filter out overly stimulating signage (the five signs he was referring to) as a means of keeping myself regulated. So sometimes it takes me longer to process both visual and verbal information. This man literally gave us .5 seconds to process what he had said before he was mean to both a pregnant woman and a person with a mental disability. I just don’t understand why you would act that way towards a customer regardless. We were just excited to stop in one of our favorite stores. We were in a few times last week and made purchases each time. Unfortunately we found 2 different clerks to be cold and a bit unkind in personality which was extra disappointing because we liked the store. The older clerk treated my wife and daughter like they were guilty until proven innocent, staring them down while they looked at jewelry, acting like they might steal something. This, of course, made us very uncomfortable. We still made our purchases there nonetheless.

Though the staff was a bit abrasive, we enjoyed the merchandise they carry. We bought a bunch of stuff. We also found their pricing to be very fair, which can not be said about all the local shops near there.

I see below that they are somewhat rude in replies to bad reviews. They ought to be more apologetic. I think they get annoyed with tourists, but they need to realize they have no business at all without the tourists, so there's room for improvement with their customer service. After scouring many sites for the perfect seahorse pendant, I came across island sun jewelry and found the perfect seahorse pendant. I placed the order and the communication between island sun jewelry was great! I felt as though they really cared about making their customers feel wanted and special. The order was delivered quickly and I have to say once I opened the packaging I was stunned by how beautiful the sea horse pendant was, to say it was breathtaking is an understatement indeed. The picture on the website does no justice since the pendant was so beautifully made, the little belly and gem eye were so beautiful, the detail on the searhorse was impeccable.
