American Eagle — Local services in Beachwood

My husband and I visited your store on 9/24/25. We were inside for about 15 minutes and not once were we greeted or asked if we needed assistance by any employee. One employee, who I believe was the manager, appeared to be on her phone instead of acknowledging us. As both of us work in sales, we found this disappointing and ultimately left. “10 feet 10 seconds” greetings are usually widely taught in all retail roles ensuring excellent customer by acknowledging your customer, even if you’re busy ensuring a great customer experience and customer retention.

Because I was still interested in a pair of jeans, I returned about 45 minutes later to give the store another chance. Unfortunately, my second visit was no better—I received no greeting or welcome, had to let myself into the fitting room, and search for my own sizes without assistance.

What stood out even more was that two Caucasian women who entered the store during my visit were offered help and acknowledged, while I was not. I would hate to believe this was race-related, but the difference in treatment was very clear.

The lady that helped me was so sweet and helpful. Her name started with a T. When I walked in she immediately asked what I was looking for. She found it immediately and asked for my size but I didn’t know what size I was for sure and she immediately was like probably XS and it fit me great! Really quick and great service, I was in and out in like 10 minutes because of her and the cashier was also so sweet and patient as I was looking at sunglasses last minute as I was paying....

It was kinda racist great clothes I'm was with my sister the staff kept looking at us whole stare downs and wanted us out fast but not fast enough we was next and the skip us mostly and went to the people who was behind us and moved so quick the didnt even move the store tags so we went to another one where they were a bit repectful we will never return...
