After moving to Oregon, my first full week blessed us with unseasonably warm weather. I am currently staying in a teeny Airbnb with no AC, and after escaping to the beach daily, figured another method of cooling off might be worth trying: ice cream!
Now, Ooo Nobibi ain't your standard vanilla ice cream cones. They offer Insta-worthy beauties featuring black cones, freeze dried sprinkles, torched marshmallows, Pocky, cotton candy, etc. Ice cream flavors rotate, on my visit they had Pure Milk, Matcha, Pink Grapefruit, and Watermelon (the latter two were non-dairy). They've also had Earl Grey (in a lovely deep gray shade), Strawberry, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and others They are not limited to ice cream, however, and by comparison actually offer a much higher quantity of beverages: coffee, a variety of boba, soda, frappes, and my fav, cheese tea! YES!
While I was sorely tempted by the cheese tea, I came for ice cream, and ice cream was what I was gonna get. Specifically, ice cream with gold leaf because...how could I not? There was a short line, but the wait was minimal, and once I ordered it took less than ten minutes for my two items. In the meantime, I checked out the darling interior, complete with pink pampas grass, cushy seating, and even a little canvas tent for kids. There is quite a bit of seating available outdoors as well, on baby pink metal bistro sets.
Once we got our goodies we hopped in the car and skedaddled. I appreciate the (adorable) daisy shaped cutout they place around the cone to avoid ice cream drips, and if you dine in, they also provide a metal cone holder (genius)! My husband had the Dalgona Cocoa Coffee, and really enjoyed it. My ice cream was fine, the watermelon very candy-like while the grapefruit had a truer flavor, and a touch of bitterness I enjoyed. The cone tasted more like the cake variety than sugar, a disappointment. The gold was certainly a novelty, and I am glad I tried it, but not sure that I would order it again (it doesn't taste bad, just doesn't add anything besides making you look fancy af). I wish there were more ice cream flavors as I would have really enjoyed something chocolate, but honestly anything cream-based would have been my preference, I just unfortunately enjoy neither standard vanilla nor Matcha.
We could not locate them right away in the busy shopping center but look across from JoAnn and you'll spot 'em. At $15 for two this certainly was not cheap, but what can you expect when you're imbibing golden food? While it will not be my first choice for frozen treats in the area, I would return, but opt for actual ice cream....
Read moreI was looking for a cute boba place to try near me and this shop was recommended. The pictures were cute and the drinks and ice cream looked very asthetic. When I walked in I expected a brightly lit, clean asthetic atmosphere, but instead it was very dark and all the furniture was stained. It looked like it was trying so hard to be cute but it didnât work out very well. It overall looked very trashy and the opposite of what I expected. I went to order and the worker was very patient and kind. As I read the menu it was very difficult to follow especially for someone who hasnât been there before. I ordered the cotton candy dream cloud ice cream with no toppings besides pokey and Oreos. My mom orderd the milk ice cream on a black cone. My moms cone came way before mine, but didnât taste very good. The flavor tasted VERY strongly of milk and it wasnât very sweet at all. When mine finally came. It looked cute, but then I realized it was covered in all kinds of different toppings that I specifically asked not to be there. The ice cream was decorated with an Oreo, two pokey sticks, dried strawberry, a pretzel stick and corn flakes. As I went to try the cotton candy I noticed that it was very very coarse and had an odd bitter fruit flavor, and when I went to try the pretzel stick they used as a topping, it was stale and gross, though the pokey sticks and Oreos were fresh. The chocolate ice cream I ordered was not very sweet and kinda tasted like frozen yogurt, I personally thought that the ice cream was the best part. Though I doprefer other soft serve shops like Dairy Queen. As I ate the ice cream I noticed that as I got to the bottom it was filled with corn flakes that I didnât ask for. As I was sitting there Eating my dessert, two people walked in and were chatting with the staff. They never ordered anything and just sat there and chatted with those working there, using the whole lobby as a meeting space. Overall it was a very unprofessional environment. Not only that, the ice cream was incredibly overpriced, I would recommend going to other ice cream and boba shops like Dairy Queen, menchies frozen yogurt,...
Read moreVERY disappointing. I am not one to normally leave bad reviews but this was by far one of the worst experiences I've had. My husband and I went in on our anniversary to have a unique ice cream experience as this place truly is unique. The girls that were working there were very nice. We ordered and went to sit down, and the chairs were filthy. Not just the ones we went to sit in but every single chair. The hallway had furniture and signs pilled up. My husband's ice cream was sitting in a stand that had chipping paint and rust on it. I looked down because something caught my eye. A cockroach. The staff asked where it was and went to show them under a bench and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days. The poor girls that were working there didn't know what to do at first. We weren't even offered a refund. Makes me sad more than anything. We will...
