Just got off the call, which was such an unpleasant experience I wanted to leave this review. I am already a client at BOA and was considering moving all my money and investments from my primary account to BOA. I called the general number for the Factoria branch, the man who picked up seemed really confused when I asked to schedule an online appointment with a banker because I am out of state in a rural area without access to BOA (closest one is I think 1.5 hours away) and will not be back in Bellevue for another 5-6 weeks. The man asked me to hold to speak to another banker, which I was grateful for. The second banker, Karen, told me that they can't schedule online appointments and she can refer me to their customer service call center "or we'll schedule an appointment and you can come in" in a tone that suggests I'm asking for a favor/exception by asking for online appointment and coming in is the rule. I asked her to give me the call center number and reiterated that I'm out of state and can't go in, so I'll take the best alternative (she cut me off here to ask whether I'm ready to take the number). She gave me the number and asked whether I need to be referred to the customer service line right now. "No, thank you." was my response, and hers was, "ok bye." Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I think it's generally considered professional to do your job in a service industry by listening to your clients, not cutting clients off, not offering something they already noted as not feasible as one of two options in a snarky tone, and generally not being rude and unpleasant. I also think that it's customary to ask whether there's anything else I need help with, but that's clearly too much for Karen. If a manager reads this, please consider asking Karen to do her job, act like a professional, and treat other people...

I hate banks, I was at this location this morning when they opened, and unfortunately I didn't catch the lady name. It was only me and one other guy in the branch. I have a check from my insurance company Mass Mutual drawn on Bank of America for $3k, I went into the branch the lady look like she may have been in her 60's. Told her I want to cash a check gave her the check, 2 pieces of ID, she says this check is over our limit to cash. She goes in the back and come right back and says I can't cash this check it's to big. I said It's a $3k check drawn on Bank Of America that's to big? We can't cash anything over $2400, you'll have to take it to your bank. I asked when did they start that I've never heard of that, I've cashed payroll checks in the past drawn on Bank of America and never a problem, and they were much bigger than $3k. I told her that's crazy that you can't cash a check drawn on BofA. So, I left and felt as though that was not a rule. I called other branches to ask them I have a check from my insurance company for $3k drawn on BofA, I don't have an account with you guys, can I cash it there? Everyone said yes, I told them what happen at the other branch and they all said they've never heard of that, terrible customer...
Read moreI am furious with Bank of American. I have over $4000 that has been in a CD for years. I went to the B of A in Factoria Washington and they refused to give me my money. They told me my account was dormant. I explained that I needed my month because I was going out of state due to the terminal illness of a relative. The two young men just stared blankly and later rolled their eyes. I am an older woman. apparently that gives them the right to be condescending, unconcerned, and uncaring. They NEVER give me my money. I signed some paperwork and was told they would call me the next day. THEY NEVER CALLED.
I have called their branch six times during different business hours and they NEVER answered. I feel belittled, taken advantage of, and they still have my money which I need for my trip. Do NOT do business with Bank of America. Their staff treats older women like s**t. These young men do NOT care about the customer....
