The way the manager dealt with my membership situation left a sour taste in my mouth. I was considering returning for some class passes after my vacation, but I will not be returning nor recommending this franchisee (both Ballard and Bellevue locations) to anyone.
Takeaways: management is poor, lacks business integrity, staff training is inadequate and inconsistent.
First, they let people late to classes. Okay a minute or two is fine for some classes, but there are often times people come in late to yin yoga/meditative classes in a jam packed room. Very distracting.
Second and most importantly in my case, they do not honor the agreements they made to customers and keeps nickling and diming. Some staff gave me a discount and the 8-class membership along with the 20.23 introduction package, charged me for two months right at sign up, and said that I could continue with 8 class membership after first month of unlimited trials. Even tho I would get a corporate discount for unlimited, it just wasn't quite feasible given that the gyms are out of the way for me. The ONLY reason I signed up for membership as opposed to just class packages was because what the staff sold me and promised me.
The manager Megan saw what the staff charged me a couple weeks later, was very frustrated when she asked to talk to me. I had talked to another staff person before this, who said that they would not touch my arrangement because they was what was sold to me. I explained again to Megan what my understanding was with the membership arrangement I received and that the only reason I signed up for any membership was because of the discounts and arrangement for the 8-class membership. She said she understood and it wasn't my fault, and promised to leave things as they were. This was a complete lie.
The next month I was charged a full unlimited membership fee without the corporate discount nor the 8-class membership I did sign up, and couldn't tell how many classes out of the 8 I had taken. Talked to several staff members who said the manager would reach out. They never did. The last person I talked to, I was "offered" to be refunded the initial 20.23, as if I signed up for 8-class membership from day one with an introductory discount. Then after the staff talked with the manager, said they would "honor" the 20.23, and refund me the 8-class membership but charge me the full unlimited membership, because I had taken 20 classes in month one. Altho I had taken 6 classes in month 2, I was told that I would have unlimited classes to use and they would let me cancel after month 2. They repeatedly told me "you already got a really, really good deal, and it wasn't supposed to happen." They kept making stuff up and changing the agreements with customers, repeatedly after agreeing on MULTIPLE occasions that they would not touch my membership arrangements. This is dishonesty and lack of integrity in my book.
Even though I like the variety of classes, this establishment is very disappointing and poorly managed. They seem to care more about a half month of membership fee difference than to keep a customer for...

TruFusion Washington locations have the best leadership of many organizations within or outside fitness, period. Truly some of the most knowledgeable people in the biz run and teach at these locations. Kudos to ownership for recognizing and retaining top talent and giving them the autonomy to meet the needs of the clientele as experts in their field.
Full disclosure, my first class at TF felt intimidating and disorienting. I shelved it for a couple more years only to return in Sept 23 because an instructor I admire greatly told me she was teaching there. That encounter has changed my life, and I hate to admit corny things like that. Fast forward, TF classes are the core of my schedule which is easy to do as they offer a variety of classes day and night.
My primary focus is yoga and the instructors, my goodness, are the best. Itās like, all the closures and transitions from COVID brought the best of the best all under one tent. Iāve only dabbled in yoga before and now I am determined not only to make it a lifelong commitment, Iām dedicated to learning all that I can about it.
Donāt hesitate to try TF. If you donāt find your class on the first day, try another. There are opportunities for all to find their groove. You will find your people and once you integrate, youāll have new besties and a community that fully supports your wellness journey.
Some yoga instructors & classes that I canāt live without at the Bellevue location: Adam P Signature Series, Derek K Aerial, Emily B Vinyasa, Suzanne M Yin & Sound Healing, Ashish A Hot Power Vinyasa, Shannon G Roll & Recover, but there are many more that I adore and many Iāve yet to experience. Thereās a new crop of teachers who are very talented that you shouldnāt miss also like, Nora, Abigail, and Sreya. For more fitness oriented fans, you canāt beat any class by Stephanie or Kyle but all are great and thereās still so many I have yet to practice with.
Not to be outdone is the administrative staff who always make you feel noticed and valued. The MVPs/cleaning crew keep the place and all the equipment squeaky clean.
TruFusion is best in class. But donāt take my word for it⦠the first class is free. Find out for yourself and be sure to tell them Large...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came for a free try out class because my friend invited me. I was excited. However my experience with the front desk was NOT pleasant. I reserved online putting in all required information including signing a waiver. When I got to the place, they asked my ID, sure. I showed my ID. They then told me the need to keep my ID at the front desk for the entirety of the class for 1:15hours! I refused because I donāt see why a studio need to keep someoneās ID? What are you trying to prevent? I said I donāt feel comfortable, as you are putting my personal info at risk by simply leaving it on the front desk counter next to the monitor. When I showed my concern, the supervisorās response was not empathetic, he basically told me, āwell the class is free, and you donāt have to take this class if you donāt feel comfortableā. It made it sound like people taking free classes donāt deserve respect. I would have walked away if I didnāt come here to hang out with my friend. I felt the tone was worst than at an airport security check. I then asked them, can they at least keep my ID secure not just put it out in the open on the front desk counter? They said yes, someone will watch it, but when I returned, it was wide in the open under the monitor. I felt there Zero care about customerās personal information. For a place that people come for relaxation and self care, I didnāt feel that way at all. The class was fine, besides being a little crowded. The teacher was nice. But the check in experience totally ruined the experience as you can imagine. I hope the owner could see this and tell me why the ID keeping was needed. And also my friend mentioned, in the past when she introduced other people for a try out, the store did NOT have to keep the ID hostage. It was...
