I have shopped at this store and location for years and generally had good experiences. I recently had an extremely poor experience when picking up an order that I placed online and did not receive any kind of apology or remedy. I had placed an online order on Friday which they would not allow me to pick up at first because their online ordering system was down then the next excuse I heard about 20 minutes later was that my card was stuck in a fraud check and they could not help me. I waited until they said it was ready for pickup which they did on Friday evening. I had work all weekend so the next day I made it in was on Sunday. When I arrived part of my order had been sold to another customer since Friday and they did not have any kind of back stock to replace my missing item. I found this frustrating because on Friday before they told me I could not take the order home they sent me out alone into the store to find the items in my order so I could take them home that day. After I did this they said I couldn’t take them because of the fraud check. So when I came in today on Sunday to pick up my items and the item I personally had picked up from an isle near the back of the store was no longer there I was frustrated. Moral of this story is DO NOT EVER PURCHASE anything online to pickup at store. I’m not sure if it’s a system issue or staff issue but I would strongly advise against buying something online for pickup or relying on if it’s in stock based on what it says online. From my past experiences the staff are polite and knowledgeable in their departments but not when it comes to the computers. I do not directly blame the staff for this issue and think it is something bigger within their software design or applications. Do not count on purchasing something online or checking an items stock online, it will disappoint you at this location…..

Read moreThis business deserves ZERO stars!! Very rude staff in the gun and ammunition department. One employee was extremely rude to my husband and myself and also to another elderly gentleman who eventually just left without the purchase he said he was there to make. The employee argued with him about a gun he was looking for. It was downright embarrassing! He was rude and flip and acted as if he couldn’t be bothered answering his questions or even helping us select a gun for purchase!
On our second visit the gun I was interested in purchasing was not in stock but “delayed”. A different, pleasant employee was willing to check one other store to see if the one they listed was available but he would not take my name and number in case the sale fell through. The store manager came but when asked would not check for the availability of this gun at any other location although he said other stores listed it as available. He said he could “promise” me those shown in the computer were also “delayed”. He would not honor the sale price for a later shipment or even attempt to get a replacement. Also advised me that even if a “delayed” gun sale was cancelled the sale price ended today and would no longer be in effect so the gun would be back up at full price!
We will never return and will deter others from giving them any business. There are plenty of other guns shops around who value their customers and practice quality customer service! Apparently, they feel their business is just to good to bother offering good customer service through two attempts to shop there!!
CEO level management needs to take a serious look at this store; at how it’s run, the incredibly poor service and attitudes of employees and the manager.
After speaking with a few other local sporting good businesses, the attitudes and poor service we experienced at Sportsman’s have been commonly relayed by many other customers!! Read moreHello although I have enjoyed the immense selection of outdoors equipment that really unlock my home and surroundings here in Bend I simply don’t think I can’t bring myself to ever do business with you guys again. I’m happy to explain. I was looking for some sort of portable battery for a camping trip. These are expensive tech gizmos compared to the rest of the the stuff there. On this trip we chose a rather inexpensive version, however when I saw the selection I thought shoot $2,000 on for a portable battery pack that can power a treager!! I’ll be back. Not anymore. Instead the sportsman wharehouse made me not feel like a valued customer but no more than a common thug and burglar. I had to fetch down an employee who than placed in a call for an employee to come to the service counter. He then stood clueless waiting for us to approach HIM whilst we are literally the only two people in eyeshot. We approached him an announced our dilemma; the forty dollar portable charged were locked to the display. He then unlocks the display and like it doesn’t get worse, proceeded to withhold the two chargers from me. He then politely informs me that he can escort me to customer service if I wanted to buy them. I had to tell him no I am going to keep shopping. Having the store imply that I’d just bolt out the door with the basket I was holding and the charges I had to work to get out was just unreal. So cool you guys have a nice selection but REI has phenomenal customer service and at least make an attempt to schmooze me out my money. You guys are jerks not to mention the dude who let a chick wave his mask to him rather than wearing it on her face. Nuts and the Bend community deserves...
