Watch each and every purchase you make, check your receipts, and for the love of God, NEVER load a prepaid debit card!!
The first incident happened last October. I had given the cashier $285 for a $280 card load. I got home and saw that only $80 had been added to the card. I called, thinking it was an honest mistake. The manager snapped at me to “check my receipt”. I hadn’t checked my receipt because I had been going there for years and thought the staff had some kind of integrity. Sure enough, my receipt read $80.
I rushed back to the store where the cashier and manager were at the register. I asked then how much money I had given them. Again, they just kept parroting, “Check your receipt!” The manager interjected and claimed that she “saw me” only give the cashier four 20s. She was not up front at all when I gave the money. I told them I was calling the police and I did.
The police went in and asked what was going on. They continued to lie to the police and tell them the receipt said $80 and that they knew me and “didn’t know what got into me that night”, as if I were lying!! I’m not sure what transpired but the police assured me the transaction was on video. An hour or so later, the officer came to my door with my $200 in an envelope. Apparently, the cashier was crying, claiming how “sorry” she was, the money must have “gotten lost”.
I should have NEVER went back to that store but it was convenient to my house. A few weeks ago during the day, I went to load a card again. A cashier seemed totally flustered and claimed I gave her less than I knew I did. A manager named Terrell came over, visibly aggravated and put my stack of $260 slightly behind him parallel to his pocket and proceeded to try to distract me by telling me that I had to make a separate transaction for items I purchased. I knew this well. He made a big production out of counting the money…and claimed there was $20 less than I gave him. I had an important appointment in 15 minutes, there was a long line behind me, I had an Uber driver waiting and didn’t have time to argue about $20.
I should have called the police once again. I chalked it up to a loss and am just NEVER going back.
In summary- The cashiers steal and managers cover it up when loading prepaid cards. Do not do that at this store and I advise not paying in cash for anything. In fact, I advise going...
Read moreI have been a Walgreens customer for better part of a decade. I was a 3 times a week visitor to the Middleburg heights and Parma heights stores. Everyone knew me by name they all did their job wonderfully. Pristine customer service! But then I moved to Berea and this store literally had me switch everything over to anywhere but the store. Pharmacy, cosmetics, and more! I try to go Anywhere but here. Half of the employees have no idea what customer service is! One of the managers who is a very old guy who literally knows nothing about Walgreens or other policies or procedures. I return something with a receipt and I got back in less than what I paid for on the receipt and he couldn’t tell me why. I come back another time to load 50 bucks to my PayPal account and he keeps referring to it as a card and I keep explaining it’s not a reloadable card is in accounts and I even showed him how to do it and even after he saw that it worked he was too scared to do it without contacting another manager. Even after I spent a half hour explaining and researching it so I could tell them how to do their job. Then he stated that if the transaction didn’t go through he would keep my money and I said well no you wouldn’t because then that’s like keeping a 2 liter of pop and my two dollars for the pop. Your drawer would be Over that two dollars because the sale did not go through and the manager let me say that again the manager said he still didn’t understand.I can’t stand going here And only ever do auto complete...
Read moreThe only reason this gets one star is because of the cashier at the front. As I was in the store there was a line five people deep and one cashier. Being patient with everybody she was doing everything to get people out as quickly as she can.
While in line I watched the manager talk to four employees, tell them there's too many customers in line. And then leave! All the employees walked towards the photo center where there was one customer. I'm glad that one customer needed all those employees plus the two behind the photo counter. Like I said it's only gets one star because of the fact that the cashier did everything she could with the 20 minutes it took for me to get out. All because the other employees wouldn't open another register after the...
