Tom aka "Mr. Truffle" won over the hearts and minds of our family.
He has a wonderfully resonant, calming voice, and a fine sense of humor.
What happened that was on no part their doing, could be made into a sitcom, "Truffles and Tribulations".
Online I ordered what I thought were my mom's favorite truffles, Belle Epoque, and when she got them I got a text back expressing, "very disappointed" with the truffles I ordered, and so I called Teuscher to investigate.
Even though co-owner, Tom found it hard to believe that an item in the order had been mistakenly fulfilled, to keep the peace in our family, he offered to send a fresh box of Belle Epoque truffles, next day delivery.
As he was packing the box he saw an order going to my mom's house for "champagne truffles" and thought to himself, "Well, maybe she changed her mind and, enjoyed the "mistaken order" of the champagne truffles", and wanted more.
So then he called me again, and I suggested he call my mom and she clarified that actually her favorite chocolates are champagne and not Belle Epoque!!!!
So something in the last 2 years happened (since my last big order) and she changed her preference.
In any case, Tom deserves a standing ovation, and just earned a therapy license, with eligibility to be canonized in Rome. =)

However, when I went to the shop a few days ago to restock, I was shocked that some of the staff inside chose to violate the LA county mask mandate. I wish I had seen this before I placed my order, I would have walked right out the door. But, the person packing my chocolates was semi-hidden behind the glass case. I didnāt realize he was potentially exposing me to COVID until he finished packaging everything and started ringing me up at the cash register. Seriously, the whole āmy body my choiceā only works when you arenāt exposing people around you. Then it becomes āyour body, but my selfish and ignorant choice to make you sick.ā

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The woman behind the counter (Marlee) is a bully. I wanted to get a specific size and color box for a Valentine gift and she kept telling me to worry about the chocolates, and let her worry about the box. I sent an email to try to resolve this issue directly with store management, but she intercepted it and replied, asking ME to reflect on my experience. I emailed 3 more times asking for the exchange to be forwarded to a manager. She did not reply again, and I never heard from a manager. Other online reviews also reference Marlee as being a problematic employee, so perhaps management is aware and just doesnāt care. But it will certainly cost them my business, and who knows how many othersā. I live locally in Beverly Hills, and Iāve shopped at Teuscher here and in New York...
