The reason for my visit was that i had been given a gucci duffle bag from a friend and it needed to be repaired (gucci bags for the most part have a lifetime warranty). So after my temp check and being told I was being assisted by a young man who was standing in front of me glued to his phone . I proceeded forward and said hello and let him know that I have bag and it needs to be repaired but first would like to have it authenticated by one of the staff( a very common request as I have done so at louie v without problem many a times) . He responded that he couldn't do so and doesn't know anyone that can. So I asked if he knew who handles such a thing at the store and was told that they don't authenticate any bags there and hasn't a clue as to where I could go to do such a thing . This made no sense to me at allconsidering how prevelant fake apparel is out there and I know gucci should and would want to protect the integrity of it brand. So I asked immediately to speak to a manager because clearly the young man could not help me and I was not leaving until i was properly helped . So I explained to the manager what I needed and that surely there' was a mistake that no one on site could authenticate the bag . To my shock the young lady repeated almost the same thing as her employee and when asked where I could go to get this done she provided absolutely no answer and just said I don't know . So I quickly thought well if they don't want to authenticate the bag that's their problem but they will have to stand by their warranty . So I told her I need to now speak to the person who handles repairs and such and it' seemed to dawn on her that she had now remembered who on this earth could authenticate a gucci bag . The tech never verified it's authenticity but I seen him go over and check key points in the bag that would show if it was real or fake . He was nice and walked through my claim with ease . So at best there manager is incompetent and really needs serious retraining or to be replaced and at worst she was plainly neglecting to help a customer in need and would've let me walk out the store without being helped . Read moreI bought a few items while traveling overseas and realized one of the belts was better suited in a smaller size. I decided to exchange it. Last I checked, Gucci stores are not independently owned. Well, turned out that because of the rate exchange they wanted me to pay the difference. Well, that was a first for me on an even exchange! I mean literally the exact same item. So i was perplexed. I hadn't previously returned nor exchanged anything but it didn't make sense to me. What was more disappointing is that the sales person asked me to sit down, left me waiting for quite a long time and someone else finally came out to give me the details on the price difference. It's like she needed back up. As if I am less than a real customer. No attempt to accommodate me nor make some type of apology. NOTHING. What's more, I was interested in purchasing a new item and she originally offered to order it for me ...do you think she even attempted to bring it back up?? NOPE!!! She just simply gave me my original merchandise and sent me on my way! Well, thanks for nothing. I travel enough to be able to make the exchange in time but I wanted to wear this belt before then. Now, that I know the fit of the new item , I will simply order it online and now I am stuck waiting for both items! The customer experience was not a priority. I do not expect to return to this store.
