âNot people of color friendlyâ please extend comment to view my response to the company â NOT BBB accreditedâ If I could give zero stars I would. If you are a POC this place is NOT for you. My ex-husband went into this pawn shop and was able to pawn his wedding ban for $400 dollars. This band was purely gold with no diamonds. I went into this pawn shop to pawn my old engagement ring with a pure white gold engagement band AND a .5 carat diamond and was offered $75. The diamond itself is worth more than that. The only difference between my ex-husband and myself is that I am a person of color and he is Caucasian. If you are a person of color, you will not be treated fairly and they will lowball you. I will never return to this establishment and will be reporting the racism to the BBB (Better Business Bureau).
â RESPONSE TO COMPANY COMMENT â
First off, your gaslighting tendency (which I have noticed through your responses to those that give you a one star review) will not work here. I was in the shop for maybe 5 minutes. The employee did not give me an in depth explanation as to why that price was the determined price. The employee said and I quote âhis ring must have weighed moreâ and that was that. The employee said nothing about the market or anything about the diamond; in fact, the employee never mentioned the diamond at all.
Secondly, itâs bold of you to assume that I didnât do my research. In my research, I found that my .5 ct diamond is worth at least $500, so the $75 offer is clearly laughable. I also noticed that all of your five star reviews come from Caucasian people, which if your claim of happily and fairly doing business with ALL people, no matter their race, gender, age, etc, is accurate you should have at least 1 from a POC. Why donât you have 5 star reviews from people of color? If I saw one, I wouldnât have left the review, but I did not. I also bet you donât have ANY POC employees. People of color cannot be treated fairly by a business that does not hire people of color. I will be going to other pawn shops and reporting back, when I do get what the ring is worth as further proof. I will then be using it as further proof for the Better Business Bureau as well. My vile review is a reflection of your VILE...
Read moreI brought in an 18kt Italian 5 band ring made by BVLGARI without any defects and a literal serial number engraved along with all the proper hallmarks. After all 3 employees examined the ring for a disrespectful amount of time, the offer on a ring that sells in the low range for at least 1k was 235$. When I asked why the offer was so low, even for its weight in scrap, they claimed the authenticity of the ring could not be authenticated. When I pressed the employee to check the serial and hallmarks and to test the gold content, it was then an issue with eBay authentication as if that makes or brakes their ability to sell a ring of that quality despite have a literal storefront. They saw my bicycle out front and my disheveled appearance and figured Iâm just another degenerate with desperation in my eyes. I went up the street to Platinum and letâs just say it was a huge sum in contrast. Itâs clear they are only interested in conducting honest business for the country club cronies. Head up the street to platinum Pawn if you want a respectful and...
Read moresadly this place and staff ruined the day of a 6 year old :( i would beware of dealing with them, as they SOLD me an item online, took my money, waited over 24 hours to message me that they had actually sold it in their shop, without honoring my purchase. My kid was devastated. " why did they say one thing to us, and then change their mind daddy?" (this purchase was a gift for her and she saw the photos they posted) I attempted to make it easy to make up for it by requesting they send another of the same item, they said they would do that- again a day passed with no call. I don't believe they intend to make right on it , and we STILL don't have the refund. They actually do business under A DIFFERENT name on sites like EBAY : " " Estatejewelry66 " Any place that lists an item online sells you said item and then waits to tell you that they double sold is suspect. I wouldn't bring my grandma here NOR my 6 year old as they obviously have less than decent intentions, sad sad story, just another sketchy jeweler with lame...
