Extra Space Storage — Local services in Big Bear Lake

So, their prices are a scam. I signed up for a tiny storage unit at $55/month, and four months later they raised the price without telling me to $110/month. I tried calling, and they were only willing to bring things down to $91/month. The current price online for my unit is listed as $65/month, and it does not say "for the first four months". I just can't afford this... If I had been told this rise in cost would happen, I would not have signed up. I just feel like I got completely fleeced.

The reason so many ratings on here are high is because they ask everyone to leave a good review when you sign up - that's easy to do when the cost is half of what they are going to charge you in just four short months. I recommend people shop around, and avoid Extra Space Storage if they are looking for a long-term solution. That, or be prepared for your costs to literally double.

I have a space in Big Bear Lake and since I first got it they have been over the top helpful! Andrew and Michael are the managers and I have worked mostly with Michael who was always available to explain all my options and payment issues, which I often had trouble paying. He helped me transfer into another unit which had a discount and is half the price per month which made a huge improvement to my finances. He also was there when I moved units and helped lift and carry some of the heavier items. I strongly recommend going there. I will need a unit indefinitely and will stay there for sure. I have a lot of confidence they will always be helpful and accommodating. The place and units are also very clean and maintained. Surveillance and security are highly trustworthy. Andrew lives there above the office and keeps a close eye and is a really nice great person. Once again, Michael has been the person I worked with the most and he has been amazing!...
