We had a wonderful time aboard the Miss Liberty. It was difficult at first making contact to find out details about parking such as was it nearby, was there a cost for it, was it accessible for those with mobility issues. Once we got a return call to the voicemail we left, we were put at ease by the nice man we spoke with. We arrived at the dock about 40 minutes early to scope it out, and parked near the very end of the jetty. The dock is very long, and has a steep ramp down at this time due to the low water level of the lake. We were able to make it down, and they allowed us to go early because it took a good 10 minutes for us to make it down there with rest stops. The staff saw how hard it was for us, and said they'd have a wheelchair to bring my partner back to the land. They did indeed do that, and it was GREATLY appreciated! Thank you John! Don't know how he got that wheelchair UP that steep ramp, but he sure did!
The boat ride was better than expected. It is a nice slow tour, with the captain pointing out places of interest, and telling history of the lake and the dam. The music in between his talking was a bit loud, but not really too obnoxious. We sat in the front on the upper level, and the sound was loud and clear. The only thing is we sat on the starboard side, and the sights are all on the port side. But, we still could see almost everything. We would love to do the sunset cruise, so plan on that one next time.
Also, as other reviewers mentioned, a light jacket is a good idea as it is windy out on the dam end of the lake and can be cool, especially for seniors!

Β Β Β Read moreIt was nice to be out on the lake. The boat is clean and well maintained. We were hoping for better narration though. That's the reason we chose this tour over renting a boat on our own. The captain/narrator was difficult to understand at times, spoke without much character, and offered little tidbits here and there, but out of the 90 minute tour, he probably spoke for ~25 minutes total. The rest of the time he played the radio (literally - a radio station) over the P.A. It would have been nice to fill more of the time with additional history or other info about Big Bear. It would also be nice if they curated an appropriate playlist rather than just plugging into a radio. I'd recommend renting a pontoon boat for an hour, which is roughly the same price as a family of 4 going on the...
Β Β Β Read moreNice to be on the lake. It's a long walk to the boat - be sure to be heading to the dock 30min before your cruise. We sat outside ip front, great views - but the speakers are not loud enough so we missed most of the history commentary. The narrator's voice was also too soft. And as other guests chattered, it made it trying to hear even harder, so we just gave up on listening and just enjoyed the cruise itself. I guess we could have sat inside (where you could hear better and no one was in there), but we wanted outside. So they should put better speakers outside up front and raise narrator volume.
Again, cruise nice - missed narration. They have drinks...
