We stayed for three nights durning August 2025. We happened to overlap with the Canyon Fire which was on the other side of the mountain, about 11 miles away from the resort. Overall, our stay was AMAZING! Since the hotel is recently remodeled, I was excited about staying somewhere so new. We stayed in the premium lakeside king room, so we had a fireplace that we didnât end up using because it was August! I did turn it on for about a minute just to see how it worked, super user friendly and turns on with a remote. ||Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning!||PROS |âïž Cannot beat the location! Right on the lake provides fantastic views (from every room!!!) and walking distance from the village means youâll never run out of things to do. |âïž Cozy rooms that the designers clearly put effort and care into. They feel modern but rustic. |âïž Comfy bed and pillows. |âïž Mini fridge with plenty of space for your own drinks and snacks. |âïž TV with chrome cast, easy to watch whatever you want.|âïž The attached restaurant was delicious and cocktails were fantastic.|âïž Clean pool and hot tub. Lots of kids durning our summer stay, but it was still very relaxing.|âïž Two clean saunas. Just be aware you need to turn them on for it to get truly warm. |âïž Clean gym. Small but mighty, everything you need on vacation. |âïž Outdoor fire pits perfect for watching the sunset. We used these every night. |âïž Aesop soap and parachute linens.|âïž Friendly staff and quick service when contacted via text. ||CONS |â Front desk was hit or miss. Sometimes no one was physically there durning our stay. We also called twice on separate days to ask specific questions regarding the nearby wildfire and info not on their website. When we did speak to them in person or via text, they were very kind and helpful. ||NITPICKY THINGS|â Dirty floors in the hotel room. No worse than your typical hotel, but this is a personal pet peeve for me. Sweeping and an occasional mopping would do wonders. | â No desk or table in room, so not easy to eat or work from the room. |â Goes without saying, but expect things to be buggy! |â No clock in room. |â No ice machine for self serve, you have to ask the front desk or...
Read moreWe were very satisfied, but there were a few issues. Although the property has been there for many years, a few years ago new ownership took over. They gutted the place and have totally upgraded everything. But, there have been some hiccups along the way. But at this time(June of 2025) The property is great. There are good views of the lake and marina. The outdoor areas are inviting. The pool and spa are small, but comfortable. We are not sure about the sauna. It's there, but it's small. |The rooms are very comfortable. Our room had a small, but beautiful balcony. The bathroom was stylish. Only shower, no tub.|We had dinner at the restaurant, and again, we were very satisfied. The pizza had a thick bread crust, but it was very light and crunchy. The sauce and pepperoni were quite tasty. The views off the deck at sunset were beautiful.|Across the board, the staff was great. |But there were a few problems. The manager of the restaurant insisted on playing new age jazz at a very loud level. He just laughed when we suggested he turn it down. The staff just grimaced, as if they agreed with us. |Maybe it was our inability to monitor the tv, but we couldn't get any show to play, except for yoga video's.|The shower valve is screwy. Most valves are set so the farther the handle is turned the hotter the water gets. Not this one. It took a bit to figure it out. I'm guessing the plumber installed the hot and cold backwards.|There is not a microwave in the room, but there is a fridge and safe.|There is no coffee machine in the room, but usually the coffee is terrible anyway. But they do offer coffee in the lobby, but not until 7:00.|They offer a breakfast, but it's only yogurt, granola and some canned fruit. Not worth the effort of going down. they offer a breakfast sandwich as an extra expense.|But again, the beauty of the location, the comfort of the rooms and the accommodating staff made it a very...
Read moreWe booked Hotel Marina Riviera hoping for a relaxing getaway centered around the pool, and we were really let down. This hotel was twice the price of all the other local options, but we chose it because it looked new and was in a prime location. we come to Big Bear often, and hoped to discover a new go-to spot.||Unfortunately, the poolâour only reason for bookingâwas disgusting. The water was murky and dirty, and not a single person was swimming. When we went to check it out, another guest sitting nearby actually warned us not to go in. They said it had looked even worse earlier in the day, and only after several guests complained did staff show up. All they did was dump in some chemicals. When the guest asked the staff member when it would be safe to swim, he had no idea. I texted the front desk, and they told us to wait about an hour.||We came back over 2 hours later, and the water still looked just as gross. We asked a staff member, and they insisted it was safe. I finally went in for a quick dip, but the water was freezing cold! I then overheard a staff member mention that the pool heater wasnât working. The hot tub was also out of order and cold. Worst of all, after using the pool my skin has been extremely dry and ashy.||To make matters worse, our room was covered in dog hair! The rug was covered in dog hair, and there were little bundles of it floating around the floor. By the time we left, almost all our clothing was coated in short white fur.||Overall, this place had so much potential, but it doesnât seem to be well-maintained. For a hotel that just opened a couple months ago, thatâs not a good sign. If youâre going to charge premium rates, the amenities should at...
