The girl at the front (hostess?) didn't seem to know how to smile and be friendly when we walked in. Later she seemed more curteous. But though our waitress was very pretty for an elderly woman, she wasn't very concerned with details or timeliness. We waited a long time to even place our drink orders. No biggie, the waitress was confused about our table being her responsibility. But then she was confused again about our order details. My sister had to ask if she could have banana bread with her salad since the waitress only gave her 2 options, a biscuit or toast. My oatmeal was supposed to come with dried cranberries or pecans, but she didn't ask me. When we tried to flag her down she hightail it in the opposite direction. Eventually I got her to come over so I could ask her to give me pecans not cranberries. She said she always put them both on... but I don't like dried fruit in my oatmeal. When finally delivered to our table, my oatmeal was lukewarm. I ordered chicken sausage but received pork sausage. Coffee refills happened twice but my water glass was empty (I had no other beverage) and no refill was offered. I sound like a problem customer, right? In fact, the only time I asked for anything was when I told her I wanted the pecans, not the cranberries. I ate the oatmeal and sipped my sisters coffee instead of flagging the waitress down again. We weren't bugging her nonstop, nor being rude, and she really provided poor service with poor follow up. We even gave her a pretty decent tip considering how she took so long to serve us and then kept avoiding us. It was a cash tip, just $1 short of 20%. She should be sad because we usually tip 25% for good service and sometimes throw in an extra $5 on top of that when the...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I guess with when we walked in the door. The lady comes to the front to greet us but stops right before she got through asking us how many and continued to a conversation by she was having about customers spending 100 dollar bills and it's a pain blah blah then turns back, how many again? We sat down and they forgot us. No napkins, no silverware and no refills on drinks and to get some help we had to walk around to get refills or any proper help. We had to hunt down our server and most of the time they ignored us. There are tables all around this joint that are dirty with food all over them still, the waitresses are just chit-chatting and not cleaning up. This place is not up to Bob Evans code.. Definitely ran by a complacent managerial staff. Such a mess in here.. unprofessional and unfriendly staff. Our food is here but no jelly or silverware yet lol 🤣 Then we get them to bring some, the guy throws them on my friend's toast.. Luckily they brought us a few extra because one of the sets was still dirty haha... What a dang joke.. I'm too busy writing this to take a bite but this food looks like reheated leftovers from the church buffet. Watching this girl smear the tables is disgusting.. THAT'S NOT CLEANING! they said short staffed but they have so many people in here working right now. I think these workers are just comfortable being lazy.. I feel like Gordon Ramsay in here about to explode with frustration. And then I had to go back to edit the review because not only did the cashier leave for a minute in between checking us out and the guy before us but it smelled terribly like feet. What is up with the feet smell at the...
Read moreUnbelievable what we experienced at Big Rapids Bob Evans this past Saturday. I'm not quick to give a review if its not a positive one but I can't be quiet here. I always liked Bob Evans and this is probably my first visit back to BR Bob Evans since covid, We had been doing some shopping in the BR area and needed something to eat on our way out of town. It was around 7pm Saturday night, We walked in and the hostess sat us down, I looked over at the table across from us and two probably college girls were sitting at the table vaping, Not eating just drinking something and vaping. I think they saw the disgust on my face and got up and walked out. Our server looked like he had just crawled out of bed. I miss those days when restaurant staff looked professional and actually wore a clean uniform. Our food was cold and for our entire meal we had to listen to screaming and yelling coming from the kitchen. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but I could not believe it. I did not say anything because we just wanted to get out of there. And to top it all off I guess the men's bathroom was out of order so they let the guys use the woman's bathroom. My wife went to go in and two guys followed her in. She turned around and walked out. We will not be going back to Bob Evans in Big Rapids again. That's...
