Once the furniture is in your home they do not care about you. I bought a $5,000 office unit from them and after 3.5 months in my home an end panel ( that I am never near) had a defect in it. I called the store numerous times, sent 4 pictures of the problem (which they requested) and never heard back from them. After many more calls to them, a salesperson ( the one I bought from had resigned from the company) told me she would pass on my request to have the end panel repaired or replaced to her manager. I never heard from the manager so I called again and told them I was very upset. A few hours later a manager called who said she showed the pictures to her service department and she said that they said the problem was caused my my neglect and abuse. I told her I am 70 years old, spent my entire career in the furniture industry and would not neglected or abuse my furniture. I stated I have no children or pets in our home and I am never at that end of the unit. She basically told me to bad. I said how can you determine the problem without coming to my home to inspect the problem.

Bottom line I called a private furniture refinishing /repair company who came to my home today and they stated that this defect was on the top part of the end panel before I received it and it looks like the stores warehouse or installers filled it with wood filler and then repainted over that area and it did not hold up. This company took 3 hours to slightly sand down the defect on the top part of this end panel, repainted it by hand so they could match the coloring and graining to look like the other panels and then sprayed lacquer it with an air brush.

$350 later it looks just like the other panels on this office unit.

I will never and I suggest you never walk into that store. How they could say after having this unit in my home for only 3.5 months that I abuse it.

I custom ordered a three piece coffee table after visiting the store in Altamonte Springs three times. I viewed all the sample tables while I was in the store to be sure it was the right one for me. However, the table top piece I received after waiting almost 8 months looked NOTHING like what I ordered! The samples in the store had marbling color throughout the top of the table but the one I received was almost completely blank on 3/4 of the top with no color at all. It was just plain and not at all what I was expecting based on the samples displayed in the store. I complained to the delivery guys and called the store manager. Mr. Bailey was 100% useless and totally unsympathetic. He did not care about my disappointment at all. He said it was a custom order and he would do nothing to replace the top piece. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THIS STORE. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS CLUELESS AND THEY DON’T DESERVE...

After years of shopping at scan designs and spending $$$$ for numerous homes in our family , we will not continue with them . Especially the Boca store . Winter park , fl is much better . Don’t bother with Boca . Our last purchase from Boca they promised delivery in one shot and agree to get the items off the floor . They decided after we left that they weren’t going to ship one item off the floor and have changed the delivery date for that item three times now . On top of that , during checkout a male employee acted like a bouncer at a bar ( unusual for furniture shopping ) saying that they are cracking down on discounts even though we had received one for every purchase in the past we weren’t getting one now .
