Meijer — Local services in Bolingbrook

Yikes. Do no grocery stores give good service anymore? Like, out of all places people spend their hard earned money, people obviously spend a huge amount on food, over a lifetime. Only to come and spend it and have a bad experience. People really only care about themselves these days, and that includes those in a professional working environment that serve the public. They develop a loathing for their clientele, and make little attempt to hide it (and I get it, there's a lot of rude people out there, but it must be remembered not to be taken personally, even as much as those people s*k). I specifically came to this store, to try it out, hoping that it'd be better than your other typical grocery store, but it seemed no different. Now, I did come to this store at a later hour. Didn't this store used to be 24 hours? Hours changed due to covid-19?!? After I realized it wasn't 24 hours, I wasn't trying to wander aimlessly in a store I'm unfamiliar with- I was trying to grab what I needed and get the heck outta there! Some may think, oh how dare you come right before closing....just shut up. It's not a restaurant, it's a retail store. Sure people want to go home, but you're stuck til close anyway, I don't change that. Common courtesy shouldn't go out the window just because one is close to the end of their shift. I had to ask for help finding something (so I could hurry up and get out of there). Anyways, the employee I asked seemed so annoyed that I needed help with this. Like bro, you're still getting paid. Are you miserable? Is Meijer treating you right? Like, how hard is it to be nice to others about things? Even the mean customers (not me), what happens when you're nice and helpful to them all (and again, it's not personal if they are mean- Meijer should teach that to their employees, if they don't already know this)? Not only could you turn that mean person's mood/day around, but you also cheer your own self up from being so. Anyways, rant over. Disappointed that Meijer isn't any better than the other stores and I won't be going out of my way to specifically shop here. But, I mean, it was only one trip, so four stars all around, I guess. Plus, was that the store seemed pretty clean and nice atmosphere. ...There was a man walking around wearing his mask around his neck like a scarf in the produce area close to closing though, now that I think of it..do they not enforce here? I hope the senior citizens that grab that top bunch of produce the next morning know to wash it very well if they plan on eating it before a...

Where do I start? My trip to the store was not very great. I went to the hot bar to grab some lunch on a last-minute lunch because my lunch plans fell through. First of all the deli counter needs more staff. There were two ladies working the deli counter and one of them was helping a customer which I understand. But the other lady was walking around in the back doing something that she could have easily stopped what she was doing and come and taken my order. The lady helping the other customer yells across the store pretty much at me and says in a very unprofessional tone that I'll be right with you I'm helping another customer right now. So when she walks over there I ask her why the other lady couldn't take my order there's two of you here? So she says oh she's working on a party tray right now, this mind you has no bearing on me, she could have walked away from what she was doing momentarily for like 10 minutes to take my order. That being said let's talk about the disgusting form of food, if you can call it that! I got a two piece Fried Chicken meal. The macaroni and cheese is pretty good, and the Hawaiian sweet roll is always a good addition. But the chicken is a different story entirely. This chicken first of all looks like it came from another planet and or has a disease! There was way too much breading on the chicken so it was more breading than meat! And the chicken looks very cheaply processed so there was Bloody parts and veins all throughout this chicken which makes it very unappealing and unappetizing! The whole meal in its entirety was $5. But even so can, a big corporation like Meijer afford to get better brand of chicken for their hot bar!? The only good part of the shopping experience was the checkout lady was very nice and I dropped my drink cup on the floor and I did not have to ask for a new one, she automatically offered me a different cup which was nice. I thought Walmart always had the lowest quality food in their hot bar but I stand corrected after seeing this...

Still shop at Meijer because I find most of items I need and it's generally quick in and quick out self pay or cashier's. Always Greeted when I go in so that brighten's the visit. Feb 2nd went in Pharmacy OTC products well-stocked, clean. Staff always helpful to one with questions on product. Went into Cosmetics and was asked by Thomas if I needed help. His kindness really brightened my day and his knowledge was amazing in finding items. I find myself going to Meijer more because everyone takes time to help! Thomas was a most amazing personable and hard-working person and made people feel comfortable. I just want the Store to know. The Deli and hot foods especially always look to help and always paying attention. Any Store Manager's walking around and checking always speak when they see you. The meat counter Butcher(s) always offer help and suggestions or cuts of meats. Bakery stays stocked and young lady there a lot is helpful. Check-out (I like Cashier) very friendly and if there is computer-check out question, a Manager John seems to pull everything together as well as well as CS have it together! With health concerns one may have, it's vital to go to a customer-caring store. Thanks!

Older Survey: Visited to Floral and plants which always look nice, good quality. Meijer is my go-to store for everyday needs. Clean, organized throughout store. Convenient to location. Friendliest Deli and Cashier's but we miss the fast Chicken Tender's we can grab for dinner!!! Would like to have more unique European food types and varieties of fruits/vegetables as well as fresh-made breads, rolls. Really love the people who work there who work hard but have time to help when looking...
