What can I say??? Tesla superchargers are on a level of their own. With charging times decreasing and the Tesla network ever-expanding. Charging will be just as fast and readily available as gas stations.(minus the Icee machines unfortunately)
Teslas and EV vehicle sales are booming right now. So that means the need for public charging is steadily rising.
Here are some tips for the newer Tesla and other EV vehicle owners to make charging an easy and enjoyable process.
Tesla Supercharger etiquette:
Try not to charge over 80% unless you're on a trip. (Using your home charger is so much cheaper and more convenient.)
Try to precondition your battery whenever possible. (Routing to the chargers will automatically do this for you.)
Whenever possible, leave at least one space/stall between the vehicle next to you. (Sharing a stall can slow the charger for both vehicles)
Make sure not to linger in the spot once charging is complete. (Idle times are about a $1/minute.)
Don't ever take someone else's charger out because you're impatient.(don't be that guy/gal)
Please don't take up two spaces to keep others away. Spots can fill up quickly. (Especially since Tesla is opening chargers to other EV brands)
Put the charger back in the holster once charging is complete.(come on, don't be a sloppy laz ball.)
During busy times, please follow the order of who arrived first. (If you arrive at the same time and stalls are packed... rock, paper, scissors time)
Disconnect trailers before charging( again space is limited and we don't need people parking across lines)
Don't let your dog use the charger stall as a toilet.( and please don't pee on the stalls either)
Last and definitely not least...
Be friendly and courteous to your fellow Tesla and EV peers.
Remember... we are proactively saving the world one electric vehicle at a...
Read moreGreat charging station as it is in the meijers parking lot. Safe. Several available to use. BUT when I was looking for a charger in the southern Chicago burns this and aurora were the only ones. It said online that this one is temporarily closed. So I went 40 miles out of my way to get a charge. Only to find out it’s NOT temporarily closed. Bolingbrook supercharger has two not working. The rest are fine. But I would t know that thanks to the wrong info online. The westmont service station explained and clarified to me. Had I not had so many issues w my brand new model x and brought it in for the fifth time I would have never known this station does work and is open. Learning lesson is to read all google reviews for charging stations and don’t rely on false info online about...
Read moreBolingbrook now has V3 supercharging! The original 8, on the left, are v2 but the 8 new additions, on the right, are v3. V3 supercharging can charge at speeds up to 1000 miles/hour! Keep in mind that these speeds are only available when the batteries are very low (0-15%) and then starts to taper down after that. Only 4 stars because I think they are charging more money for v3, but I haven't...
