First time trying this cute coffee shop within the Meijer in Bolingbrook, the one near I-355. As I understand it there is also one in the Meijer on the west side of Bolingbrook on Weber as well. Had to wait a bit as being a Saturday, there was one only one employee which he did apologize for and said should have been two. I decided to try the pumpkin spice latte since it’s the season. When I get this coffee from other places I always ask for less pumps as I’m not a big fan of sweet. He made it that way and it was very tasty. Wanted me to try it in front of him in case I wanted any other adjustments which was nice. Wasn’t as temperature hot as I would’ve liked it and I didn’t even get the whipped cream. And just as pricey as Starbucks, so not necessarily a better choice in that regard. They also have breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well as some pastries and gelato. A nice area to hang out if you wanted to sit and enjoy your coffee there, but I feel like being in a Meijer grocery store. Most people are taking it to drink while they’re shopping or when they’re headed out the door. The one odd thing was the plastic to go lid Cover comes off, doesn’t attach to the back so you either have to find a garbage to throw it away or if you reseal it, you’re holding onto it. The drink holders referenced, Lavazza coffee and I had said something because I enjoy that brand, but he said they recently changed to a different brand, some Italian name that I didn’t recognize. I might try it again, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to spend six dollars on a 16 ounce...
Read moreMy first time at Qargo coffee, I got the mother of dragons energy and my sister got the strawberries and cream energy. They were SO good. 10/10 drinks. The customer service is pretty good, the employees are still very new ig and don't know how to answer any questions I had other than saying they've heard things are good. They were all very kind though! My second time, my sister got the iced apple chai while I got an iced matcha w/cold foam and a piece of chocolate cake. The apple chai was AMAZING! I love the taste and the aesthetic. However, the matcha was so bad that I threw it out once I got home. Its advertised as a creamy and bright green matcha latte but mine was pale and tasted mostly like milk. I've heard great things about their matcha so I'm going to say that maybe it wasn't prepared right. It also took 10 minutes to be made but that's okay. The chocolate cake was extremely dry that it crumbled apart as soon as the spooned dug in. It was very disappointing especially for $9 🤷🏽♀️. I had to add milk to it before I gave it to the intended person. Overall, I do like this place but I wish there was more consistency between customers and their drinks. Also hope that their pastries aren't that bad. Their gelato is so good though so I'd steer to that instead. Btw, they also use AI generated images/ads...
Read moreI'm very biased when it comes to coffee and pastries. I'm in the restaurant business and I used to manage a franchise coffee donut shop that many people still like to dunk their donuts in. And I am really impressed. I've tried their cold brew black just to taste. And I don't like black coffee. I nearly drank half my cup before adding any cream. It wasn't bitter by any means and the flavor raw fresh, lively and brought me back to Italy so many years ago.
The pastry I had was like from an Italian Bakery found on the south side of Chicago that my family used to go to when I was a kid.
I would NEVER, NEVER have guessed that this place would have coffee and food this good! You better believe, I will not be stopping at Dunkin or Starbucks before going shopping here. This coffee...
