Tonight I was on the phone with my boyfriend while he was cashing out his and his friends tickets where they buy(at least 5-10 tickets /night)every night for fun ! Just because he didn’t scratch his ticket in the right place but at the cashier (because she said this isn’t the place to scratch ticket)very very rude attitude , she started scream very aggressive at him! The store was empty and nobody was there because I heard the conversation when my boyfriend mentioned, but it look like she had a bad day ! Such ppl like her are not good for service she needs help ! He asked to not make a big dip out of it but she said “ I told u don’t scratch it here dude, grow up” and going like this by attacking him for the next 5 min! This is very inadequate behavior I wish I could register her ! She made a really big deal out of where he was supposed to scratch his ticket at the cashier, or on the side of it ! Wow! They make business for this place every day and she is literally ruining it ( So many complaints about this woman in the reviews and the owner looks like just doesn’t care… horrible. And it looks like my boyfriend is not the only one who she screams at, if u check the other review it’s shocking how she still works here ! I herd she is the owner ! Then you should prepare for your business to...
Read moreYou may have noticed that the reviews here are quite polarized. The explanation is simple: the staff here are some of the kindest, friendliest people you are likely to meet in the Boston area - but the moment you take advantage of that kindness, are rude to them or others, or disregard the very simple expectations of etiquette in a retail environment, they have no problem standing up for themselves. It has become an unwritten "rule" that retail workers should simply allow themselves to be put down and abused by customers, but thankfully, the Harvard Convenience crew disagree. They have been nothing but warm, welcoming and accommodating to my partner and I because we have shown them the same courtesy.
They have a lovely selection of unique and hard-to-find snacks and drinks as well as standard convenience store fare. Since we moved to Allston several years ago, we've stop in here often just to chat and grab a quick drink or snack on the way home from class or work - we've never had any reason to complain, and our favorites are always in stock because they know we'll buy them. If you read the negative reviews here, remember that there are two sides to...
Read moreSo this was my first visit today in the store and I was with my friends. We were talking in our mother tongue and one of my friend in the middle of some conversation said a slang to my friend as usual in a friendly manner and I know my friend doesn’t mind that. But the lady just started shouting “Mind your language, you can step out, I won’t mind.” I mean definitely you don’t mind because you don’t care for anyone. I know the woman understands the language that we were talking in but it wasn’t that we were talking to her. Also, she was pretty rude and was yelling at the top of her voice. I mean I also work somewhere and I get people but at least I just don’t be this horrible with anyone that too for the first time. I mean okay she didn’t like it but she could have said it as a normal warning but no after reading the reviews I think it’s the same woman because of whom the store is getting such low reviews. I mean they should really think about this and do something, even if it’s their family’s store and they handle it. And it was such a horrible experience I can’t even think of recommending it to someone or...
