Came here for the first time. Took pictures of the menu from today so people can see the most up-to-date price. Food here was good. Not too salty or sweet (both I dislike) and they used pretty good amount of ingredients (which I care a lot). Cream shrimp was amazing. Would highly recommend. Crunchy outside with sweet creamy sauce outside with hot juicy fat shrimp inside. Very yummy.
Dolsot bibimbap had a good mix of traditional ingredients. Somehow tasted a little bland to me though, and I didn't like the gojuchang sauce. Just not the original spicy gojuchang. Also missed the smell of sesame oil I'm so used to in bibimbap. Very healthy dish though.
The spicy pork was good. Well-cooked, hot, nice blend of sauce. It also came with a bowl of rice. I just wish they gave more kimchi. We got like 3 pieces of ggakdugi (radish kimchi) and a small dish of kimchi. If I only ordered the spicy pork by itself, I would have asked for more kimchi.
Jjajangmyun was good. They actually put a good amount of onion and beef in it and a very good amount of sauce. The noodles were A+. Aldente, chewy and stringy texture. Enjoyed it very much. Also not too salty or too sweet at all. Was a pleasant surprise.
Gave 3/5 for service because they mistakenly brought a wrong bibimbap. They did take it right back and we didn't touch it but I would hate to think 'what if'. They also asked us again in the middle of our dinner whether we had ordered a coke. Nope. Would've given 4/5 but two strikes of mistakes and now it's 3/5. I know it gets busy but please don't confuse orders twice!
Atmosphere felt like Korea. It was great! The noise level was bit high for a conversation though so it was hard to hear each other. It added to the lively atmosphere though. People seemed to be genuinely enjoying the time their. Gave 4/5 only because it was a little too loud for me personally.
Overall: pretty genuine, good Korean food. I think I will be coming back to try other dishes. Again, would recommend the cream shrimp. I don't think that's an authentic Korea dish but very...
Read moreThere is not a lot of Korean Chinese restaurants around, finally, get to try it. The restaurant was kind of full when we got there at 12 when they opened at 11:30. We were there for an hour, with lots of people dining in and take out. The service is kind of slow and there are times they ignored you. We ordered seafood scallion pancake, vegetable fritters, jajang noodle, jjambong noodle, tangsuyook (S), cream shrimp (S). We had leftovers because we did not expect the tangsuyook and cream shrimp will be this much even in small orders which is $2-3 less compared to the large size. Seafood scallion pancake is kind of disappointed, it is not crunchy and a little soggy on the bottle. The vegetable fritter is crunchy and since they slice the vegetable and added green pepper which makes it tastier. The jajang noodle is average since I make it at home myself. The pork was too dried like jerky and the black bean sauce was too watery. Jiambong noodle was just the right amount of spicy with genera ous portion of seafood. Tangsuyook was crunchy since the sauce was on the side and they used pork tenderloin which had less fat and did not over fry it, still juicy. The cream shrimp was kind of soft since they added the sauce and with little lemon taste to it. Overall, the fried food is highly...
Read moreVisited again and ordered Jjajang (reg) and steamed dumplings; both were disappointing and very dry. Lowered my rating from a 4 to a 3.
Jjajang - the size and amount of toppings are good. There's a VERY light char that brings nice flavor, but it's not significant. The pork and veg are very dry, and the sauce also hasn't been watered down enough so it makes the whole dish a little dry. What's worse is that there's a powdery texture that's also making the whole dish dry (텁텁).
Dumplings- Also very dry. The texture of the dumpling skin is mediocre and there is absolutely no juice to the meat.
Unless they improve their foods I don't know if I would like to come back. Overall disappointing compared to my last visit in August.
The batter is light and crispy as I expected and I like the small touch of having the sauce separated out by the chef. But I think the sauce was a little too sour for me.
The 짬뽕, on the other hand, was not how it tasted compared to last August. The noodles and the rest of the topping didn't have the soup flavor in them, so they felt like they weren't mixing well together. The soup itself had a nice flavor but didn't have the depth that I had last time I was here.
The place seems much more crowded but that may have caused a lower food quality...
