The Fairy Shop — Local services in Boston

This guy should probably just change the name of his shop. There is absolutely nothing fairy related to be found here. It is 100% Harry Potter from top to bottom. Had I been looking for a portal to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this place would probably have been amazing. But I was looking for a portal to Fairyland. And that is not at all what I got. After going 45 minutes out of my way, navigating the difficult and frustrating streets of Boston to get there, I kept telling myself that it would all be worth it because there'd be a magical little shop of enchantments waiting for me at the end of the road. But instead, all that was waiting for me was a shop full of overpriced merchandise in which I had absolutely no interest. But of course all of this could have been avoided had this guy not given his shop such a wholly misleading name! Although I have to imagine that this place at least started out with some fairy merch, since reading the other reviews several of them mention pixie dust and unicorns and other whimsical enchantments. But apparently over the years that was all replaced with HP stuff. Michael’s store on Newbury Street never fails to delight and enchant! My daughter got a visit as a treat after the Harry Potter exhibition in Cambridge and loved it! I’ve been shopping here now for thirty years! The store has undergone changes in merchandise and it’s currently all Harry Potter (it started as The Crow, has also had soaps, candles, silver jewelry, gnomes, fairies, Alice in Wonderland, etc). I still have a great deal of the items I’ve bought over the years- good quality and selected with love. If the owner isn’t swamped with customers, please take a moment to chat with him!
