UPDATE: I posted this review about a year ago, and now have been coming to Skin Spa for 2 years. I can confidently say Jovanie makes this place what it is. Her service, friendliness, and cleanliness is what keeps me coming back.
My skin has only gotten better and better since my original reviewā she always remembers what has and hasnāt worked for me and adjusts the treatment and advice she gives me every time. She genuinely cares about her results, and itās amazing to feel like you have an ongoing consultation rather than a one-and-done appointment.
Her room is always spotless. SPOTLESS. Iām a clean freak (like, bring my own nail file to a nail salon clean freak) and have never had concerns about the sheets, floors, tools, or otherwise in her room.
She also brings an insane amount of sunshine and warmth to every service Iāve had with her. Itās like visiting an old friend who knows exactly what your skin needs, be it a facial treatment, wax, or laser.
Still canāt overemphasize what a great experience Iāve had with Jovanie. Sheās usually fully booked (for good reason!!!), but if you manage to find a slot with her, RUN, do not walk, to get your skin right.

I am hesitant to post this review only because Jovanie is so amazing I want to keep her all to myself. But the world needs to know about her greatness!!! I bought a package of treatments that I started in NYC, and wasnāt seeing great results. After moving to Boston I continued the treatments with Jovanie and when I tell you I saw results after JUST one treatmentā¦
Since then Iāve been going to Jovanie regularly for facials, laserā¦anything and everything. Sheās a skin magician, insanely smart and skilled, super cool, and thereās never a dull moment. She knows exactly what my skin needs and my skin has never looked better.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI arrived 15 min early to my appointment and took the stairs to the suite due to the elevator looking suspicious because of the renovations to the second floor. The door to enter was not open and I called the Spa to let the know to only have the voice mail answer resulting in me being "late" to the suite. My esthetician was upset because of this despite only about 5 minutes passing and lectured me on me punctual which was irritating because I was but the door was not opened. I had to run downstairs take the elevator I was not comfortable in to get to my appointment. Before starting my facial I expressed that I wanted to change an add on service and was told by the receptionist that I would be accommodated. When I got to the suite the esthetician taking care of me was annoyed that I changed it and tried convincing me to keep my original service. I refused because the original service warns about the harm of sun exposure which I face daily hence why I wanted to change the service. During the facial everything was rushed and the "massage" given during and after left me SORE! The esthetician also disregarded my request and still did the original service, when "extracting" she brushed a tool roughly on my chin erupting the active acne and now I have massive zits on my face due to them reappearing after not being extracted properly. I have had better experiences previously and was hesitant to post this because my intention is not to get anyone fired but at the same time I did part with my hard earned money and was not given a service I believe...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had a Back facial with Hannah. My first impression was poor as I was booked at the wrong location and whomever I spoke to seemed rather flippant about it. Luckily, I caught it prior to arrival, in which case my payment would have been wasted. After asking for a morning appt, I continued to be offered afternoon appts...unsure what the confusion was there. The forms that are to be filled out prior...after 4 x of filling out the forms, they would not submit. Thankfully, Hannah is very pleasant and knowledgeable. I would like to extend a 'be aware' for newbies to any treatment that includes extractions--OUCH! I hadn't considered what they would feel like and I don't want others to make that mistake. This is hardly labor pains territory but it does sting. The last piece of feedback I have is it would be super helpful for those making appts to direct clients where to enter. I came from Hynes Convention Center and the address is shared with another store! I arrived at 1015 for an 1100 appt and was confused by the clothing store there but there was another person waiting, so I waited. Another person unlocked the store and told me "We open at 12". As I filtered through my responses, I told her I had an appt at 11--she let me in through the store, explaining the offical SkinSpa entrance is around the corner. Under normal circumstances, I would continue going to my normal spa [G20] and not worry about having a back-up spa and never think of this place again. Luckily,...
