So im giving 3 stars just cause the food was really good. (No complains there) the second thing i will say, is that just since the beginning our waitress was like mad and kind of rude. The first thing they say to you is that theres no changes or substitution at all in the menu, you can just take stuff from it, so i ask politely is the milkshake could be just with half of the amount of Nutella so its not very sweet, she again remind me kind of rudely and annoyed that theres no substitution wich asking what i ask wasn’t but ok, then just ask no whipped cream, wich didn’t matter cause they bring it with it anyway. So like i said we order burgers, steak fries and chicken tender (very spicy were super great and delicious) but overshadow by the bill which my friend pay in card and skip the tip cause we were leaving it in cash. So she rushed to take the tip on cash and when bring the ticket there were added 20% tip even if my friend skip it in the machine. So of course that i said something to which she reply that she couldn’t cancel the tip once it was in the system and looked at me like well im sorry so i said but we give you cash tip. And she said kind of mad then you want the cash back“ of course i want the cash back” $30 dollars tip for a $70 meal? Is she mad or she just thought we wouldn’t notice and thats why she rushed to take the cash. So yes to the food and a Big NO to...
Read moreWhen you read this review, I will tell you, I am something of a Burger Snob. I am very picky about how I like my Burgers, and most places in the Boston area SUCK at making Burgers. I have easily eaten at over 70 places that claim to make good Burgers in Boston in the last 5 years, and CGK is the only place that does everything correct. As the cold kids say, CGK has infinite Riz.
Juicy, Hot, Fresh, Greesy, Flavorful Burgers along with all the flat top options, along with that Brown Butter Mayo is pure magic on a brioche bun. If you want a TRUE American Burger experience, this place is it.
Don't sleep on the other options either though. Their Crispy Chicken Sandwiches will give you that down south Louisiana vibes. Loaded, Crunchy, Fried to perfection, paired with homemade sauces and slaw. Can't beat it.
The Loaded fries here are the perfect extension of what was already a good meal, and they don't skimp on loading those fries up either.
The ONLY weakness this place has, is their milkshakes, and what prevents it from being the perfect location. They use the McDonald's type Milkshakes (The powders) which is really cheap and gross. If this place stepped up and started making classic shakes, this place is an astounding 11/10, but until then, it's solid 9/10 currently. Just skip the milkshakes and get the...
Read moreWhat seems to be a small establishment really opens up when you head downstairs! If you're bringing a group of people, I'd say 5 would be close to the max amount of people that could sit comfortably in one area (as was the case for our group). We came at around 5 pm on a Saturday (which I would recommend to avoid a huge wait!).
Items ordered (as of 4/2024): Double Trouble - $15.50 (single patty) - Bread was very tender. There was ample amounts of bacon and the butter + ketchup combination worked really well. While not the best burger I've ever had it's definitely up there!
Chicken bomb fries - $13 - This was pretty good but surprisingly heavy due to the cheese (of which there is ample amounts). The flavor is good and it's basically a cheesesteak (obviously with chicken instead) with fries under it. Definitely share this with 2 or 3 people since it is DENSE!
Sweet and spicy fries - $13.50 - This was a big winner for me. Not too sweet with a nice kick at the end! The chicken really adds to this when combined with the fries. Best of all it's not too heavy! I would get this again.
Overall we really enjoyed our meal. Probably the biggest complaint when we were there was how hot and humid it was inside (it was around 60 degrees outside). Definitely will be back to try their other...
