Blain's Farm & Fleet has been successfully supplying farmers and big rig drivers for so long. They are as legendary and important to the beginning of the agricultural history of this country as John Deere tractors.
Today they are proud to maintain their reputation as honest and caring merchants.
I wanted to buy an air compressor and a sales clerk walked me over to them - down the endless aisles, each precisely labeled with its products - to the acs.
He didn't just get me there and then leave: he asked me what I needed it for and what requirements it needed to provide. I needed 5 cfpm, at least 8 gallons of air capacity, and showed him a similar air compressor I'd spotted in an internet search. He pointed out his competitive product, which unfortunately was about $70 more than the clearance-priced model I'd found in my internet search. He actually conceded that he couldn't match it and suggested that I take a look at his competitor down the road. What an honest and forthright employee! I hope F & F knows how lucky they are to have such a great sales person.
While I was in the store, I picked up some other things on my list, and found half-gallons of 100% juice on sale for 50% less than I could even get them at Aldis.
It kills me to give them less than 5 stars, but someone had recently mopped the restroom floors and they were incredibly slippery. I had a moment of despair wondering if I could still go ahead with my knee replacement surgery if I had a broken hip from slipping and falling in there. Getting their end-of-day chores done early backfired on the over enthusiastic employee because I'd left wet footprints all over the clean and slippery floor. I talked to the manager and she agreed and assured me that they usually delay that until after closing.
I know I will return to Farm & Fleet soon. Their Wrangler jeans for less than $13 need a good looking over and $50 for leather 6 inch high work boots or hikers is a great deal - I already know that they are a solid quality product because of the name over the door...
Read moreI usually love Hardees and since there isn't one near where I live, I enjoy coming across one when I'm on the road. This location was a little bit of a letdown. I ordered a hamburger with no cheese (which is what a hamburger IS but for some reason you have to say No Cheese everywhere you go, or you'll get stuck with a cheeseburger), and no onions. They left the cheese off but I got onions anyway. I scraped them off. The burger usually has a nice meaty flavor but this one in particular just didn't taste like a Hardees burger. It was terrible but it just didn't match what I'm used to from Hardees. We ate at a time of day when it wasn't busy, but we had to wait quite a while for our food. The lady who took our order was nice enough, but I think that with nothing much to do, she was trying to find things to stay busy. She decided to wash the floor. That wasn't so bad, especially since the cleaning solution didn't seem to smell bad, but she got right up to our table, (there were only 2 tables being occupied at the time), and when we left we had to walk on a wet floor to get out of our booth. It seemed weird that she would wash the floor next to diners instead of washing those areas after we had all left. At least this...
Read moreStaff needs to be a little more knowledgeable in reguards to more expensive merchandise they offer such as Tractors and UTV's. We recently were shopping for a UTV and Tractor and ended up purchasing one from McCullogh Implements because employees at Blains couldn't give us any useful information on the product we were interested in purchasing. Their response to at least 6 questions we asked " Oh, I'm not sure" In comparison, tractors at Blains appeared substandard in quality to Kabota tractors. Blains also was not willing to compete with pricing. Also Blains did not honor a coupon I recieved from one of the products they were selling. I bought 24 cans of Royal Canin wet cat food and a 7 lb bag of dry Royal Canin costing me about 100 bucks. I recieved a coupon for $8.00 off my next purchase on a case of cat food equal to 24 cans.....Blains didn't have food in a 24pk case so I bought 2 12pks equal to one case and they refused to honor my coupon. All of the merchandise they sell is over priced. Also, there has been multiple times while checking out, my cashier felt a need to discuss their political views with me which I have no interest in and is inappropriate. The only good thing Blain's has going for them is...
