Five Guys — Restaurant in Bradley

My wife and I really don't like fast food restaurants. We were given a gift card for Five Guys. While we were in the Bourbonnais/ Bradley area, we noticed a Five Guys just down the road, so we stopped in. They had just opened for the day. As we walked in, I was totally in shock when we saw one of the works actually cleaning the underside of the metal light shades. We have never seen that at any restaurant. Usually, we see old food particles molding in place. Yes, we were amazed. When I said something to the worker, who was taking our order, he said that's part of the job. Any restaurant that does deep cleaning like that is truly okay with me. The man that took our order was very pleasant and really didn't mind having a conversation. The food was actually really good. The prices are reasonable and Yes, the restaurant is very well kept. So, all in all, we would highly recommend this Five Guys restaurant the next time you find yourself in the area. Food is always great. However, I am currently here at 9:30 on 7/31/21, watching one employee inside working away on our food while we are sitting curbside by the door in our vehicle. Then the other 4 employees come around the corner from the back of the building and begin to take turns riding around on a skateboard while the one employee is in there making food alone. Very unprofessional, I understand it's close to closing time, and I'm sure it's been a long day, but you have multiple orders from at least 3 customers, and your way to best serve them so you can close up shop and the customer to get home is to have 1/5 employees working on food, and the other 4 outback skateboarding? Like I said, love the food, but the lack of effort and professionalism is rather disappointing. I am a special needs teacher and my high school students worked to earn a trip out to eat lunch. Without question, they voted for Five Guys. We arrived on 12/16/2024 to signs on the front doors saying "Cash Only." Luckily, my students had brought cash to practice money managing and communication skills by doing their own ordering. The staff on duty were excellent, patient, and encouraging to my students. They allowed the students time to consider their orders, add it up to get the total, and make sure they had enough cash.
