Disappointing Quality for Price - Duckworth Snowcrest Merino Wool Jacket
I recently purchased the Duckworth Snowcrest Merino Wool Jacket, and I am extremely dissatisfied with its performance, especially considering the high price tag of $600.
While I was initially drawn to the jacket for its merino wool properties, the design flaw in the armpit area completely negates the benefits of the wool. Duckworth chose to use a different material for the seam tape in the armpits. This non-wool fabric unfortunately absorbs underarm sweat and odor, causing the garment to reek after just one use. This is a major issue, as it directly contradicts the odor-resistant properties that merino wool is known for.
I reached out to Duckworth about this issue. While they acknowledged the material used for the seam tape, they defended its use instead of addressing the problem.
It's incredibly frustrating to spend a significant amount of money on a jacket that becomes unwearable so quickly. Even when wearing a merino wool undershirt, the odor from the seam tape is overwhelming.
I regret this purchase and cannot recommend the Duckworth Snowcrest Merino Wool Jacket to anyone looking for a high-quality, performance-driven merino wool garment. The poor material choice for the seam tape...

I purchased long underwear and after 3 days of wear the fabric tore along the entire butt seam on both sides (I am 5’9”, 145lbs, got a size small which was slightly large). When I emailed asking for a repair they told me there was nothing they could do because I purchased them at a local Bzn sale. I understand the product was purchased on sale but if I had known it was a defective product I would not have bought it. I have not had any issues with their other products that I own and absolutely love their stuff and their brand. I hope this is just a one time...
Read moreDuckworth Wool has changed the way I look at wool fiber and any synthetic competitor... I typically have an itchy reaction to anything wool until I tried Duckworth. Never have I experienced any discomfort from their merino wool and I often wear direct to skin. Layering this stuff is where you feel the power of the fiber and its ability to mediate temperature as well as it wicking/drying/anti microbial qualities.
All in all I wear these products head to toe any day of the week. It's the only thing I pack on overnights or when adventure calls. Couldn't say enough good things about the product and experience with those...
