We had a very disappointing experience at the Ellen today. When my wife purchased tickets for the documentary rewind she noticed on the website that one of her favorite movies from her childhood, Newsies was going to be presented so she placed the date on her her calendar. She also placed the time of the show on the calendar in the kitchen and mentioned it to me multiple times over the next 2 months. She asked me, the week of the show, to not make plans for Saturday at 3pm for this is when the show started. She double checked the time, and sure enough it was 3. We gathered the family up in the car and drove to the theater found parking and entered the theater only to find out that the movie it started at 2 p.m. Oddly enough the owners of the theater were in the lobby assuring everyone that it was the Bozones mistake and not their own and that they had checked their own website and then argued with us about whether or not we double-checked. We decided not to stay. I promptly checked their website to find nothing at all mentioned about the movie or when it started even though they assured us that they had checked their website and it was indeed 2 p.m. I love the Ellen and everything in it stands for but this particular experience really left a sour...

I find the hidden fees associated with events at the Ellen to be quite distasteful. If you are going to advertise a ticket price just advertise it at what I can expect to pay you at the box office. Don't advertise that the cost is $5 for a student to attend an event like Pecha Kucha and then tell me it's really $8 (ish) with the mandatory fees. Some years ago the box office refused to give me that student deal for Pecha Kucha - they said there was no such thing - even though I had read it in the "Get Out" section of the newspaper. The only way they let me in was making me pay the regular ticket cost - once I got home I found the student price listed in the paper. I think it's great they occasionally play classic movies there but I never go as I know the fee troll is lurking at the box office. Please just be up front about the cost to attend an event. I had emailed my concerns at one point but never got a response. The interior is beautiful (not the lobby though) which is why I came up...

As a board member of Hope & The Holidays, I want to extend our deepest thanks to The Ellen Theatre for their generous donation to our recent silent auction. Their support helped us raise vital funds that will go toward supporting families in need this holiday season.

Located in the heart of downtown Bozeman, The Ellen Theatre is truly the crown jewel of our arts community. Entertaining audiences since 1919, it continues to host an incredible variety of events—from concerts and plays to weddings and youth classes through the TATE Academy. Their commitment to enriching lives through the performing arts is matched by their generosity and dedication to uplifting others.

We’re incredibly grateful for their partnership, and we encourage everyone to support local institutions like The Ellen Theatre that bring creativity, connection, and joy to...

I had a STELLAR time listening to the Glenn Miller orchestra a few weeks ago at my favorite venue in Bozeman, the Ellen Theatre, our gorgeous and beautifully renovated downtown venue. I got to do a little dancing and listen to great music, musicians and singers. This legacy band has been around since 1939, 80 years... quite a tribute for a band that only had Glenn Miller in person for 5 years. He died in a tragic airplane crash in 1944. Heartfelt thanks to John Luden and his fabulous Ellen team for bringing in such stellar and affordable entertainment!

The Ellen is a beautiful venue in Bozeman. Sitting in the theater takes you back to the 1920s. The seats are comfortable, lighting good and acoustics are fantastic! We attended an excellent performance by J2B2 (a bluegrass band) and can't wait to attend performances in the future.

I love seeing plays at the Ellen. My first one I saw was Annie in 2017. Tonight I saw the play You Can't Take It With You and recently saw The Fiddler On the Roof a few months ago. The architecture is absolutely beautiful and it has been around for a very long time.
